Junsu had a favourite toy.
It was red, tiny and shiny. With a sharp silver blade that was ready to nick and prick your skin if you dared to touch it.
CHAPTER 3
Junsu glanced at the phone in the living room worriedly. It was already past 11 o’clock, and his husband was not home yet. He didn’t even leave any message or call like he always did, even if he only left excuses of late meetings or entertaining clients, which Junsu knew was all lies.
He toyed with the idea of calling him again. But he learnt that if his first call was not answered, it meant that Yoochun was busy or he didn’t want to be disturbed. The last time he tried to call Yoochun repeatedly because he left one of his folders at home, Yoochun had chided him for interrupting his meeting with an important client and asked Junsu why he didn’t just deliver the folder to his office instead of calling him. It was not like the office was very far.
The hint of accusation was startlingly clear in Junsu’s mind. Yoochun thought that he was too… lazy to even do the simplest action: to deliver the folder to Yoochun’s office. And he swallowed the excuse that was already on the tip of his tongue, promptly apologized and quickly made his way to Yoochun’s office to deliver the said folder.
It’s not like he could say that he was afraid to walk into one of Yoochun’s office affairs, like he did before.
The memory of the day was still frighteningly vivid in his mind, no matter how fervently he wished for it to fade with time. Yoochun, with his head thrown back and an absolute bliss on his face with a fair-skinned man with gorgeous raven hair straddling him, both obliviously drowned in their ecstasy.
Starting from that day, his suspicion became a reality… and he found it harder and harder to keep the façade.
That was why he needed his favourite toy back… to help him anchor back his sanity.
His body was getting more and more numb these days, or so he thought. He was not as easily as satisfied as before. The sensation of a shallow nick across his wrist was not as exhilarating as few years ago and he couldn’t retrieve the ecstasy feeling like before when he saw the trickle of blood blossoming against the cuts.
‘Maybe a bit more would be okay…’ he once pondered curiously as he tried to press the red razor harder into his skin, producing a thicker river of viscous red against his pale skin.
And he gleefully found back the sensation he craved the most… control… ownership… independence…
And he started to cut deeper and deeper each day… relishing a control over his body as he lost more and more control of everything else in his life.
And he was about to continue his routine again that night when he heard the sound of knocking on the door.
He paled instantly.
What if it was Yoochun? He would be disgusted to see him satisfying his crazy craving like this! He would definitely throw him away!!
With those worries in mind, he immediately shoved away the bloodied bandage and his precious razor under the sofa. The harsher knock on the door prompted him to rush toward the door in panic, but still not forgetting to slip the strappal around the freshly made scar.
Suppressing a wince when the pressure of the strappal stung his wound, Junsu immediately put on the pleasant mask on his face and opened the door.

Jaejoong was about to kick the door in frustration when the door remained stubbornly locked after several harsh knocking from his side.
‘not only he’s whiny, jealous and possessive, he’s a lazy ass too!’ he mentally scoffed at another minus points he gave to Yoochun’s spouse, adding more justifications on his behavior to just confront the man to let Yoochun go.
When the door was finally opened, the first word that came out from Jaejoong’s mouth was, “It’s about time, you lazy…”
And the rest of his words were swallowed in shock.
Park Junsu was unlike the image he had carefully built inside his imagination. The slender young man, slightly shorter than him, with those big worried eyes and pouty lips did not fit into the whiny pompous character he had always assumed that Park Junsu would be.
And his resolution to break him, to lash him with harsh words, to kick him out from Yoochun’s life, seemed to instantly disappear when he saw the look of recognition on those brown pools which was followed by a polite bow and thanks to him for carrying Yoochun home… and the invitation for him to come into the house.
Him.
Park Yoochun’s secret affair.
The one who should be receiving spews of profanity filled with anger from the man who was cheated for more than a year, Park Junsu.
But instead he invited him in, even showed him the master bedroom and asked him to be comfortable inside, to accompany Yoochun inside, to sit by his side…
Him, Kim Jaejoong.
Instead, Park Junsu went out of his way to be polite to him, to fetch a drink for him, asking him whether he wanted to help Yoochun to change his clothes or he would prefer Junsu to help him…
Him, Kim Jaejoong
Instead Park Junsu asked him to stay for the night since it was Yoochun would want to anyway…
The phrase of home wrecker never hit him harder that it did that night.
He should be the one groveling on Junsu’s feet, begging for forgiveness for ruining the family of the ever-smiling man. He should be the one who was busy on his feet to make up for his misdeeds in wrenching away the husband of the kind-hearted man.
But he didn’t.
Wasn’t it what he always wanted anyway? To get all of Yoochun.
And now, even the husband himself had consented to leave Yoochun in his care. He should be taking this opportunity.
Or so he tried to tell himself.
In the end, he decided to banish the thought for the night and fell into a fitful sleep beside Yoochun.
