my question, as it is with all people with a disorder ending in mania, is how do you know? i'm not doubting you, i just want to know how you came to such a realization.

Usually it's a question of whether or not you have the mental strength to face what you really are.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step.
If you can't admit it, then your problem is usually psychologically induced, or in other words, fake.

well, i agree with you for the most part, but my opinion is that all manias are psychologically induced one way or another, kleptomania is no different. but not every common thief is a kleptomaniac. where do we draw the line is all i question?

someone who has an "irresistible impulse to steal"

why is that bad??

stealing is a good thing. most people have too much stuff anyways, and they should learn what its like to have this stuff they think they "can't live without" stolen. All the better if they have someone to blame, if youre strong enough to take it, or good enough to not get caught.

Jonathan.
