Yeah, James Kim and his family were from SF, and were travelling up north through Oregon to Seattle, I think.

Of course they got stuck in the snowstorms, and his family was found Monday. James had set out over the weekend by foot to find help.

I'd say it's fairly clear, from the fact that he was found on the mountain slopes, in the snow, that he died from hypothermia and/or dehydration, and the condition of his body, it being only Wednesday, is probably still fairly good because the snow would've preserved much of it. It probably was nothing of a fun death though.

It's sad. They said that the mountaineers in the rescue party were tearing up when they had to return with the ufortunate news.

It's sad, in any case, that he was just below his family's location, when he was found. I'm amazed to see the outpour of response on Cnet's website as well. I just wished, for his family's sake, that he'd been found before something like that.

Clearly. It's never good tidings, really, to go through anyone's torturous death.

Sounds like the snowstorms hit the Midwest worse though. More immediate deaths there, and no mountains involved. It's nasty. u_u;;
