Aeka grew up in a estranged family where her parents spent more time arguing then spending time with her. I would expand more on her childhood but this is all the visual novel itself says about her childhood aside from the fact that she spent a lot of time in a park near her house to get away from said parents.
When she hit high school she had a creep named Gaito hit on her. Word is he also tried to rape her but this isn't confirmed. Either way because of this event his girlfriend Kyouka accuses Gaito of cheating on her with Aeka. Even though Gaito hitting on her was no fault of Aeka's she still gets all the blame and becomes the victim of bullying. For her whole high school career during class she is tripped, punched, kicked, stripped naked, and she's even prodded with tazers. Most of this goes on during class with the teachers willing to do nothing to help.
Aeka meets the protagonist, Kouhei, on top of the school building. After a few meetings Aeka blackmails Kouhei into dating her, saying she'll end her life if he refuses. He agrees, the two begin dating. At first during school hours Kouhei pretends to ignore Aeka so he is not bullied along with her. But eventually he cracks, cannot take it, and sticks up for Aeka. He becomes the subject of abuse along with his girlfriend the very next day.
All of this comes to a head when Kyouka kidnaps Aeka and Kouhei after school and drags them to the roof top. While some of Kyouka's classmates hold Kouhei down Kyouka gives Gaito permission to rape Aeka. Kouhei fights back, knocks the girls back that are holding him down, takes a knife from one of them, and presses it against Kyouka's neck. He threatens to kill her, and to show he's serious he does cut a small slit into the side of her throat. All of her goonies run off, including Gaito. Kouhei and Aeka then strangle Kyouka until she releases the contents of her bowels into her underwear. Kouhei takes pictures and mails them to her later to blackmail her into staying silent about the incident.
After all of this happens both Kouhei and Aeka drop out of school. Aeka moves in with Kouhei and gets a job at a local bakery while Kouhei himself is trying to get into college despite dropping out. Even though the two are no longer in school they both seem extremely happy together and Kouhei's parents are extremely supportive of the two.
Personality: Aeka on the surface is a very easy target for bullying. She's softspoken, kind, and above all denies any abuse that happens to her. After all at the start of the visual novel her self esteem is at an all time low, low enough to have sex with an almost stranger on a school roof to just get recognition from someone. Although she has healed some by the end of her route she still believes everyone else is more important than she is. She isn't willing to stand up for herself but as soon as Kouhei, her boyfriend, is abused by her tormenters she has no hesitation with punching out the main school bully. Aeka is the type of girl that loves everyone with her whole heart except for herself.
But of course just like any victim of abuse Aeka has a somewhat deranged side when it comes to her bullies. She took all of the abuse without saying anything or complaining but she secretly thought horrible things. In a scene where Kyouka tries to cut off strands of Aeka's hair Aeka herself responds by laughing and asking Kyouka why she hasn't killed her yet. We learn later that isn't an action from a suicidal girl asking for her death but that Aeka is giving Kyouka a death threat. During the strangling of Kyouka she admits that she's always wanted to kill Kyouka.
Aeka is just a tragic character who was bullied and almost raped at least once, maybe twice. She really shows the effects bullying can have on a person. She's self loathing and hateful of anyone who picks on her because of the bullying. But if you are kind and sincere to Aeka she is a true friend. She's kind and caring and regardless of the fact that she won't stand up for herself she'll gladly stick up for a friend. Aeka is a good person as long as you treat her well.
Abilities: Aeka is a normal girl with no abilities aside from her sheer willpower.
