Geocities will be closing 10/26/2009 (October 26th) and I will be doing what I can to archive as many Harry/Draco and other popular Harry Potter sites as I can between now and then.

I'll be upload all the files throughout the month of November in the middle of my NaNoWriMo writing. The links to where you can download them will be posted in new post on this journal as I upload them.

You really are most excellent. I just flipped realizing I hadn't saved a geocities fic I wanted. It's good to know there are awesome people like you to save fandom for the lesser mortals.

Well, I hope whatever fic you might have wanted manages to get saved. Some pictures and pages get errors, and don't manage to get saved but at least the majority of them do.

hi. i'm here from harrydraco. i was wondering whether you are aware of the archive of our own project. as far as i can tell, they do not have a provision for people other than the creators of works to archive works, but in the case of the geocities issue, they might be willing to let you try (or maybe even work with you) to contact the original owners to get permission to post these as a "collection."

i'm not involved in this project AT ALL (i'm just starting to write in fandom, though i've been reading for years), but i'm pretty sure that femmequixotic is. or at least i think hers is the lj on which i've seen info on this project posted.

here's to preserving fanworks! thanks for the work you're doing!

That looks like a regular fic archive like fanfiction.net. There's no way I'd be able post to it with the numerous geocities fics I've obtained. Not only would I get called on it by fans (even with permission), it'd also be a hell of a lot of copy & pasting. I don't have the patience for that. I plan to just zip up the saved sites, post the link,s and let people have at it.
