Feb 07, 2011 19:31

[The accidental feed starts with the image of a white ceiling and soft sounds of shuffling. Then a hand grabs the Dreamberry and soon enough, the Prince's face shows up on the feed. He looks like he's waking up and when he notices the date, he curses lightly in Persian. For two weeks he was out. He quickly goes through the contact list and sure ( Read more... )

[This new world has taken some getting used to. But all in all, Tamina feels she's managed pretty well. ...the house is still standing, at least. But her teacup is empty, so she's padding quietly down the hall to the stairs and thinks to peek in Dastan's room as she's done at least once a day, to see if there's any change. Imagine her surprise to see him not only awake, but at the window, after two weeks, holding a rather large bird. She pauses at the doorframe, unsure whether to intrude or not.]

...Dastan?

[While the bird screeches and flies away to land on the top of his bookself, Dastan turns around. The sight of the Princess, well and especially still here in this world, brings a smile to his face]

Good morning Tamina. I....I am sorry I overslept. [His smile turns slightly to a smirk at that. He's jesting of course.]

[One of her eyebrows goes up, but she doesn't venture any further into the room.]

You must have been exhausted, then. I tried several times to wake you, to no avail.

[Giving a quick look to Mahdi, who looked like it isn't moving from where it's perched, he grabs his undershirt he sees you oogling him Princess and slips it on before walking to her as he shakes his head lightly]

Ii wasn't exhaustion, Princess. I have seen it before. People falling into a sleep so deep that none can wake them up. This was my first time sleeping that long.

[He looks at her for a long moment before raising an eyebrow in a teasing manner again]

I must say that I am impressed with seeing our house still standing...

[She scoffs, crossing her arms. It's too cold to get into a brawl just now, thanks. Giving him a look, she tosses her hair and says rather flippantly:]

Well. I'm glad you're awake. I'm going downstairs for more tea.

[With a coquettish flounce, the Princess does exactly that, lightly skipping downstairs and heading to the kitchen and the kettle.]

[He can't help but chuckle lightly at her display. Grabbing a shirt, he follows her downstairs, smiling. He knows there is still so much hanging in between them since Tamina came back to this world, but the fact that she's still in this world after his sleep coma can only be seen in a positive way for the Prince.

His stomach rumbles in protest of the last two weeks without food and Dastan follows the Princess to the kitchen, grabbing an apple in the fruit bowl and sat on one of the stool by the counter. He watches the young woman prepare tea, not entirely surprised that she found out how the appliances work. She is a clever Princess after all.

He finally breaks the silence after a few bites of apple]

Have you had the chance to see more of this world while I was asleep?

[It's only taken Tamina burning herself twice before she'd figured out how to work the "stove", as it was called, and making tea has been a necessity during the cold two weeks. So she moves with fluid grace through the kitchen, filling the kettle in the sink and depositing it atop the burner.

As it heats, she selects an orange for herself, leaning against the counter and digging her nails into the tough rind.]

Mmm, not really. It was horribly cold and there was all this...black ice everywhere. Not to mention the monster that decided to romp through the village a few days ago.

[His brow creases into a deep frown at the mention of the monster. It's a good thing Tamina chose to stay inside then. He has no idea what he would have done if he had awaken to a wounded Princess.

He nods slowly, trying to smooth over his expression and offers her a small smile.]

Perhaps I can try to find you some warmer clothes and show you around. I am sure Aksh is itching for a run as well.

[Tamina pretends to think about it for a moment, then cocks an eyebrow at him.]

Mm, perhaps. And yes, your restless beast is quite the handful.

[She really didn't relish having the horse's water bucket splashed all over her the other day when she was caring for the animals out in the stable.]

[Despite finding the image of the Princess fending for the horses in the stable a funny one, Dastan has the decency of offering a small sheepish smile]

I am truly sorry to hear that Aksh did not act like the royal stallion that he is.

[She does well in keeping the smirk from her lips.]

Yes, do have a conversation with him, Dastan. I simply cannot tolerate such boorish behavior.

[Falling silent, Tamina just gazes at him for a minute, then quite impulsively tosses the orange aside and throws her arms around him, as if holding on for dear life.]

[He almost rolls his eyes at her words]

I highly doubt that Aksh would even list--

[But his own reply is muffled as Tamina wraps her arms around his neck. He stay frozen in surprise for a moment before his arms circle around her waist. his half eaten apple rolling on the counter before meeting her orange. It's so strange to have her in his embrace like that, after having yearned for her so much, but it's still comforting and Dastan leans his cheek against on the top of the Princess' head.]

....I.....I'm truly sorry I wasn't more...around when you arrived.

[The Prince feels there is no use in letting her know that no one has control over these prolonged sleep.]

[Comforted by the returned embrace, Tamina simply soaks it up; if she were a cat, she'd be purring. She bites her lip on a whimper, but cannot help a small sniffle.

Finally she leans back a bit, placing hands to Dastan's cheeks and pressing her forehead to his.]

I thought...I thought it a cruel destiny, Dastan. [She bites her lip again, trying to put it into words.]

In Alamut...I...fell. Died.

Then woke here to find you waiting for me. And then, it seemed as if our destinies were reversed, that you were to sleep forever, denying our paths together.

[A soft sigh and she shakes her head, closing her eyes.]

So much I do not understand...

[He sighs softly and smiles reassuringly as their forehead touch]

We make our own destiny, Princess. And I know how this world may be confusing, but I am sure in time, you will find it bearable to be here.

[Without breaking their embrace, Dastan leans back slightly so he can have a better look at Tamina]

You....you did not die in Alamut. I somehow was able to turn back time to our invasion of your city. I was able to stop Nizam before any deaths occurred. Although....he paid the price of his treachery.

[How ironic he's the one repeating to her what she told him the first time she came to this world.]

[His words are puzzling, definitely. Tamina frowns, not understanding. But she can't help placing a hand to his cheek, keeping her gaze on his.]

...you used the Dagger? [But a wave of relief washes over her regardless.] And Alamut is safe... [She hugs him tight again, feeling quite boneless, as well as thankful.]

[His lips pull in a slight sheepish smile. He knows he shouldn't have used the dagger, but really, he couldn't let the world to be like Nizam had brought it to]

I did. To save you, to save my father and my brothers...

[His family is everything to him and so is the Princess too now. Dastan hugs her back, leaning his cheek against her forehead as he does so.]

I believe it is, Tamina.

[There's no need to tell her that even in this new timeline, they are betrothed. Here, she finally have a choice regarding her life and while he prays to the Gods he still is her choice, he's not going to hinder her freedom.

Breaking the embrace ever-so slightly, he reaches for the Dagger hidden in his boot and offers it to the Princess with a small smile.]

I believe this is yours, Princess.
