I haven't seen the re-release yet, but it is set for a much wider distribution soon, so it'll be around for awhile. From what I've heard, the new scenes are mainly "family-bonding" types, plus more attention paid to the "Philosophy of Time Travel" book, which would help explain things a bit more.
