Room 204, Monday afternoon

Margaery, with her day off, had made her way into town. She'd taken her time wandering the streets and peering in shop windows, and had a bit of a bounty to show for it. First and foremost, Margaery had changed her dragons, stags and coppers into money suitable for this world (and Ringo hadn't been wrong; she was still rich. Hooray exchange rates ( Read more... )

Rey had been headed down the hall from her own room just in time to hear someone talking, though when she didn't hear someone else in there she wondered if she'd missed someone talking to her.

"Hello?" Rey called.

Margaery gave a start, not realizing anyone might have heard her.

But accidental or not, she could use a second opinion on this. "Hello!" Margaery called, waving the bill at the girl. "I was just remarking to myself on the ugliness of the men on their money, here."

She held up the five and pointed at Lincoln, making a little face. Come on, Rey. He was gross, right?

"It... never occurred to me to look for that before," Rey admitted, coming closer because now she was curious. "I mean, I suppose it works for him?"

"He hasn't even got the decency to fill in his mustache," Margaery despaired, gesturing. "It would serve his face so much more if he wasn't just pure beard and...angles. Think of all the nicer things that they could have put on their money."

Shiemi hadn't been sure how she would feel about using a western tub, but she had actually enjoyed herself and was humming as she came back to the room.

"Ah! Welcome home, Lady Margaery. Did you have fun?" And then she saw the plant and her face melted into a pure happiness. "Ah! Roses! You have roses!"

"I hope you don't mind," Margaery said, smiling over at her roommate. It certainly didn't seem as if she did. "I'm rather fond of roses."

Considering nearly everything she owned was embroidered, embossed, or engraved with roses, it may have already been obvious.

"How does the day find you?"

There was a difference between liking how a flower looked and caring for them!!

"I love it..." Shieme stared hearts at the plant, her fingers flexing as she tried to hold back from fiddling with it. The soil, was it moist enough? That spot certainly got enough sun, but perhaps a small book underneath to get it just a little higher...

And the day was, well, getting rosier by the minute.

Margaery looked from Shiemi to the plant and back again, curious. "Are you a gardener?" she guessed, tilting her head. This seemed to go beyond ordinary aesthetic appreciation. "My family's castle has many gardens filled with flowers, but I admit that I'm not especially skilled at caring for them, myself."

She shrugged a shoulder. "I'd appreciate any advice, or help with it."
