Just a little somethin' I came up with last night to be read at Speakeasy. It's a pretty bald-faced stab at things, but hey, I only had 20 minutes.

Oh mother.

I can only imagine the long, lonely nights you endure, rum and diet on your end table, fat little corgi endlessly stabbing eardrums with his paranoid yips. Your four children all grown, ( Read more... )

Oh please, I have BOTH mommy and daddy issues. I think that evens things out and just gives me issues, yes? I think Freud would say something along the lines of "Pass me that mirror and razor, would ya?"

For my benefit, my little brother has told my mother that he's planning on having kids, but for his own benefit I hope it's sometime after he finds a stable job and a not-crazy girlfriend. But as far as I know my sisters aren't in the baby-making game anytime soon either.

It totally is. Will's Pub, 9:30 p.m. blunt on Tuesdays. Will's has a habit of bumping us for the odd punk band lately, so we're off next week. But after that, it's straight on through the holidays.

This here is where I try to keep the updates, or facebook Tod Caviness (me) and I'll be more than happy to add an invite to your pile.

Sorry, Tod, I wasn't intending on presenting this without you, but it's an idea that's been banging around in my head for a few weeks, and I wanted it out. I'll read it sometime in the near future, because I think it's one of the rare pieces of mine that works better audibly.

When are you back in town, by the way?
