“Have a good day and a nice trip, Mr. Leonhart!” the young woman calls after the man as he exits. Then, she shuts the blinds to the little reception desk and heads back into the little kitchen, where her mother is cooking dinner.
Serenity Wakahisa sits at the table, sipping the milkshake she’d been forced to leave to tend to the check out. Life’s been going great lately. Soon, she’ll have enough munny to get out of this inn and into an apartment of her own.
The ringing of the bell at the reception desk breaks her daydreams. Giving an aggravated sigh, she pushes herself up to go to the desk. Once there, she opens the blinds, putting on a cheerful smile despite her annoyance.
“Hello, and welcome to the Traverse Town Inn! How may I-?”
She stops mid-sentence as she takes in her customer. Frozen in place, green eyes stare down into gold as a single Shadow peers over the edge, claws dug into the wood to hold it in place.
Finally, Serenity screams, stumbling back to flatten herself against the wall. She’s reaching around the edge of the doorframe, half in it, while her other arm is flat against the wall. Her poor heart is pounding in her chest.
There’s a squeak from the Shadow as it drops. Then, it jumps up, pushing a large munny piece onto the counter. After this, it jumps again to push the munny further back. Once more and it’s back to clinging to the counter.

Rho stares at the human from over the counter again, curiously watching her actions. If she would make any.
Finally, the female moves, and the creature drops, staring up as she takes the munny. Counting it, weighing it. All interesting actions, and the Shadow moves its hands to mimic them-much like it is doing now, with the giving munny to gain access to those rooms this place holds. Or, at least, that’s what it seems the munny is for.

This is… This is enough for two rooms, two weeks, or one room for four weeks. Either way, it’s a decent amount of munny. And it seems the Heartless is actually seeking to pay for rooms! A remarkable concept, at least to the brunette holding the munny.
With a wary glance, she leaves the small, closed off room.
“This way. And don’t attack me.” she says sternly. A squeak in response as she takes a short walk down the hall, opening up the red room for the thing. Immediately, a few more pop up, curiously, tentatively entering the room.
Serenity is frozen at the door, watching as they enter and slowly calm down. When she’s sure they aren’t going to attack, she promptly shuts the door and returns to her station. There, the munny is registered, the room marked as no longer vacant.
She then walks back to the kitchen to drink what’s left of her milkshake. White as if she’s seen a ghost, she’s glad that her mother’s too busy to notice and that Dad sleeps to take the later shift.
…A curse nearly escapes her lips as she hears another ring.
