I'm sorry, but I love it.  I love it so much I can't stand it.  It's hard to take much from a promo, because we don't know what any of it really means--what one thing looks like, could mean something completely different--so I'll just say that everything looks shiny and lovely and very very interesting, but what I'm mainly focusing on here is the ( Read more... )

Yay! I didn't piss you off XD So far no one's come after me yet, so if I did piss anyone off they're doing a good job of just ignoring me. Which is good. I'm not here to start an argument.

Anyhoo. I honestly felt a little hypocritical even making this post, but I had to get it off my chest, and thank you so much for your input. I honestly can see where Cas fans are upset by this turn of events. I'm not upset that they're upset, because I can see the aspects to be worried about, but I'm upset that they're already condemning everything and jumping ship. So...it's just frustrating, I guess ( ... )

But I don't think this was just another "Ruby," so to speak, either. I genuinely think Cas had good intentions, to help Sam and Dean and the rest of humanity, but things just went wildly wrong in the end. So, I don't feel that this has turned into another sci-fi trope, though I can see where you're coming from. I honestly feel it's got a different spin than that though. The writers have given us the friend-turned-foe before, and while they clearly aren't afraid to re-use the same tricks, I think in this instance it's drastically different.

This is friend-turned-accidental-foe. Which, yes, is absolutely sad. It's heartbreaking, for Cas, for everyone involved, and it hurts me just as much as it hurts other Cas fans, but truly? I believe there's always room for redemption. Always. No matter how much of a mess you've made, or how badly you screwed things up, you can still be forgiven. And that's what Sam and Dean have shown us, isn't it? That all can be forgiven? And with the halfhearted attempt there at the end of the season ( ... )
