Bluberry, Cherry and Apple [RL attn: Maraich]

It was hot and humid, the air feeling sticky and almost tangible, as the sounds of birds and animals echoed around him. The only other sound was the Tex Ritter song playing off Dr. Jones' record player. That and the sound of a pen scratching against paper. He'd been exploring the tunnels and mazes beneath the temple for two months now, getting an ( Read more... )

Maraich had heard rumor that there was some sort of power source to some sort of temple that was on this planet. He didn't care so much about the power source part or the ancient ruins part - what caught his attention was that it was possibly a giant diamond. GiantHe could imagine it now. He'd have a diamond to rival the Millennium Star... The Jubilee... Maybe even the Golden Jubilee itself. Mounted onto a necklace, or maybe a crown, just for himself ( ... )

The record skipped and Indy turned to set it back to play again. Though in the short silence he glanced out of the tent flaps and spotted something that was definitely out of place.

A pretty girl in red walking through the camp site.

It took him a moment to regain himself from the surprise before he stood up and peered out of the tent. "Hey!" he called out as the record started playing again. The hair was giving him an idea of who it was- hopefully she wasn't here for the Destiny Tour.

Maraich glanced around the campsite with a lackluster eyes, unimpressed with the drab setting. It was as if he was judging the entire campsite.

"Do you often sit around in tents by yourself?" he took a few more steps towards the tent, his voice doing little to give away that he was a boy. Although it looked like an Earth, it didn't feel the same way his Earth did. For one, all the equipment seemed different than what he would expect.
Behind the flaps of the tent he could make out some weird giant horn thing scratching out what he imagined was supposed to be music.

He was clearly peeking into the tent to see what was there.

"Maraich?" Indiana asked, holding the temp flap for 'her' to come in out of the humid jungle air. "Lately- I have been."

He rested a hand on his hip before licking his lips and looking at Maraich, "What are you doing here? Don't tell me you actually buy all that eternal youth and wealth stuff."

He hoped that wasn't the reason, he wasn't exactly in the mood for protecting a damsel in distress.

"Wait!" He moved to stop her, "This place might have more traps then the one's we've run into."

He turned the torch off for now and set it aside, walking forward carefully and avoiding the familiar tiles. The closer he got to the stone however, the closer together the tiles were.

The stone was resting on a platform, and from the looks of it- it was carefully weighed. If they moved the stone who knew what could happen.

"You still have the arrows?"

He moved along slowly, his eye still on the prize.

"Of course," he tossed one forward. After all, if it wasn't being thrown straight forward it was basically a stick with a sharp side.

"Why, what are you going to do with it?"

Indy caught the arrow and moved up onto the pedestal, he broke the arrow in half and stuck on end between the pedestal and the platform. Repeating the action on the other side.

"Get ready to run in case this doesn't work."

Where to, well- they'd get to that if needed.

With a quick swipe he picked up the diamond, the platform shifted, but the arrow shafts stopped it. He gave a short sigh before carefully making his way down to the safer part of the chamber.

"This isn't the power source." he said after a moment, glancing around to see if he could find what all the writings meant about a life source that powered the temple.

Maraich was by his side, hands held out to hold the diamond, so fast that it almost seemed like he appeared there. He didn't have much interest in finding power sources or mythical creatures - but damn, that diamond would look great on a necklace.

"It must be hundreds of carats," he said in awe, mind staying on one track, "Now we just have to get out of here."
