[back-to-back with Tron, twisting at the cords tying their arms together. got to get out of this somehow, right? at least it's not like that 'sun' thing is going away... yet.]
[[*homes in with never-failing actuarial radar 8D*]]
[that entails forcing his wrists further into the loops, instead of trying to pull them out. he works his arms back and forth, trying to get as much reach as he can, with one hand at least -- it must be as uncomfortable for Tron as it is for him, but he's not complaining. just letting out a frustrated rrrgh every now and then.
after several minutes, his fingers brush the edge of his disc.]
[Tron helped Ram as much as possibly in the awkward position, angling his arms and hands as best he could and keeping out of the way. Tron certainly couldn't have done what Ram was doing; there was simply too much of him, all lanky limbs and tall stature that he was. But Ram was smaller and his disc closer and...]
Good! Keep at it!
[He lifted his shoulders just that much higher, adding more strain but ignoring it, not caring in the least if it got the job done. Besides, he'd felt worse before.]
[the shift helps, giving Ram the extra inch or so that he needed. he works his thumb under the disc, as awkward as this particular hand position is -- his wrist is bent upwards, propped against Tron's back for more leverage, and there's almost no strength possible in the grip. but he persists and in another few moments the disc is dislodged and falls into his hand.]
Got it!~
[instantly eases down to give Tron more slack, working his wrist back and forth a little to try and figure out what angle to hold the disc when he ignites it.
now if only they can do this before those guerrilla guys come back....]
[At this rate, it's all Tron is good for to give encouragement to his fellow. He glances up at the fiery sphere in the sky, judging the time they have left before it sinks below the horizon, always wary of its passing due to the warnings of Flynn (which were just silly for a security program of his caliber but Flynn was Flynn and Tron would listen to him). Besides, while his nightvision was exceptional he knew it would make some things more difficult. Like navigation.
He memorized its location compared to his current surroundings and eased his mind back to the task at hand. Or rather, in Ram's hands.]
having Tron there to encourage him is much, much better than going through this on his own. definitely makes it easier to concentrate on his task rather than worrying about what's to come.
he makes a small sound of acknowledgment, tilting the disc just so. as far as he can tell, it's only touching the ropes.]
Preferably before later. [Who knew Tron could keep a sense of humor in serious moments? He kept the sarcastic bite to a soft minimum but it was clear he was ready to go.]
sends a quick burst of power through his disc; the rim flares, cutting through the ropes it's resting on. if he timed it right, the power won't last long enough to mark Tron's arm.]
[Tron isn't even worried about such trivial things.
Quickly, the security program takes advantage of the weakened bonds, creating more slack in them produced by the snapped cord by flexing outward. He wiggles a bit and soon enough the binds fall away. He stands in a hurry, ignoring the rush of energy pouring suddenly into his unbound hands, and moves to further the efforts on Ram's own bindings.
The two of them free, now all they had to do was navigate their way out of the forest...]
little whoop of triumph when Tron's ties fall away; struggles to his feet to make it easier for his own to be dealt with, and grips Tron's shoulder for a moment when it's done. question was, though, which way did they come in from? all these tall grey-and-green pillars look alike and there are too many of them to see very far.]
[Tron flashes his partner a reassuring smile as he pats the other's hand. But then he's back to business, glancing up at the sky again and checking his surroundings one last time to recalculate the vectors now that he has a proper working angle and the ability to change it. He's pretty sure...]
[has some scouting skills, but learned 'em all from Tron, so is happy to follow his friend's lead. bounds over a fallen log on the way out of the clearing, intent on not slowing anyone down.
something's weighing on his mind though.]
Those guys were pretty fast on those jet-things... think they could catch up to us?

[[Oh, you~~ P.S.: said in the tone of one Lee Stetson in irritation mode (but who really is just worried that he got his partner in this mess)~~]]

Iiii... don't think I can get my hands out.
[[bahahaha!!!~~~ and totally not his fault, just one of those things, who knew there was a secret government base over that hill?]]

Thank you. Just give me a second to try something...
[But Tron can't really angle his hand up to the cords with Ram in the way or else he'd already have them untied and soon enough he gives up.]
...plan B. Can you reach your disc?

I can try!
