sunflowerraven CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: The United States of America (Alfred F. Jones)/AXIS POWERS HETALIA
In-Game Name: Alfred F. Jones
Age: 19. (20 as of July 4th)
Gender: Male
Position & Ship: Pilot / Convoy
Appearance: Alfred is, upon first glance, probably one of the least intimidating people you'd meet. Despite the fact that he is tall (just shy of 6') he constantly wears a goofy, almost childish sort of expression. He has thin framed glasses on his face which do wonders at making his bright blue eyes appear even larger and gives him an even younger look. His blond hair is almost always messy, with one clump of strands that curls upward regardless of wind or other weather. His clothing varies between casual and (sort of) dressy depending on the situation, but he is almost always wearing a brown leather bomber jacket with a giant white 50 on the back (he's not entirely sure what it stands for) and his pilot's hat complete with goggles. He carries around a pocket watch with him, but at first glance that would be hard to see since it's kept in his pocket, and two dog tags around his neck; one has his information on it and the other has his father's.
Personality: The first word that comes to mind when encountering Alfred is overwhelming. He's very loud, very arrogant, very ignorant and at times very blunt. He's overly confident despite having the skills to back it up, and can come across as downright annoying. It doesn't help his case at all that he is incredibly nosy and likes gossip and getting involved in everyone else's business. Being blunt usually ends up in others needing to be blunt with him, but if someone has a different attitude or opinion than he does, he'll argue it until he's blue in the face.
Because, after all, his opinion is the only right one.
The world is painted in two colors; white and black. Good guys are good, bad guys are bad, and there's no room for gray in between. Justice is unwavering in his mind, and despite the fact that he is annoying his 'heroic' ideals are not to be questioned. He's headstrong enough in his beliefs to fight for them to the death.
He also will not hesitate to brag about his victories, as talking about himself never grows old. Though it does reach a point; if something is bothering him, he will choose to deny it instead of discuss it, a trait that can be blamed on the distant upbringing he received from living with Arthur. Besides, a hero always has to be around to cheer up everyone else! He has no time for sadness or conflicting emotions!
Despite the fact that he appears to fail at 'reading the situation', he's actually smarter and more insightful than he lets on. He chooses to wear rose colored glasses when he looks out at the world, preferring that then becoming completely battle hardened. His smile is almost always genuine, though he purposely tries to avoid topics that make him dwell on unpleasant memories or events, trying to make light out of any dark situation.
Occasionally, he will become obsessed with the thought of winning, and it often brings out a 'darker' side to his personality. He is a very sore loser. So much so that his 'perception' almost gets skewed, to the point where he will kill or disarm a bunch of people 'in the name of justice'. This ties in with his temper; while he doesn't necessarily have a short fuse, when he is angry, there will be hell to pay.
He enjoys flying because he truly believes he can claim the sky as his when he's up there, and a spiritual connection to nature. Because of his easy going attitude, he's very good with children and animals, and seems to relate to them more than he does with adults. He loves adventuring and archeology, and is terrified of ghosts to an incredibly debilitating degree. However, he also enjoys things of the horror genre, so he's a glutton for punishment, especially since it will most likely terrify him half to death.
Abilities/Weapons: Alfred is excellent with a gun, has awesome hand-eye coordination (from years of playing baseball when he was younger) and has above average strength. He's very head strong and true to his cause, with an almost infallible sense of justice: he will not stray from what he believes is good and right, even if it involves going against someone close to him. He's an expert at aerial combat and maneuvers, and can be quick thinking and quick to react if the situation calls for it. He has the ability to lead, although not many would agree with his line of thinking, and can think 'outside the box' to come up with creative solutions to a problem.
How well can your character hack?: I'd say Hard entries can be hacked by him, though he won't actively do it unless a higher up tells him to. He views the violation of other's privacy as a negative thing, though if it is to monitor potential terrorist activity he will support it for the safety of others. lol Patriot Act Plus its something he can be obsessive over (TERRORISTS? IN MY NETWORK?!) and will hunt down the network for any sort of usable information. Until he either finds it or misconstrues something to make it sound good.
Weaknesses: Alfred can be easily distracted, and until he becomes familiar with an area he's prone to getting 'geographically displaced'. He also isn't good with reading maps, and tends to get caught up on 'saving the day' that sometimes he overlooks the 'bigger picture'. Alfred tends to run into dangerous situations without fully thinking them over, acting in a 'shoot first, ask later' mentality. Also, due to his naive tendencies, he can be easily manipulated by those who take advantage of his trusting nature.
He is also terrified of ghosts; something which is more of an irrational fear than anything, but even at the mere suggestion of something spooky he is prone to freaking out, anxiety attacks, or passing out.
His glasses could be considered a weakness, because his vision is rather poor without them.
History: Once upon a time in a galaxy far far away there lived a rather typical nuclear family consisting of a mother, a father, and a set of twins; Alfred and Matthew. Alfred was older by only a few minutes, but the two children soon would come to have drastically different personalities; Alfred was more outgoing and troublesome, and Matthew was more quiet and kept to himself. Favorites always came through in parenting, and Alfred soon became a 'daddy's boy', choosing to spend more time with his father.
His dad was an ex-military officer, and often told Alfred stories about how it was to fight in wars and bring bad guys to justice. Being the hero quickly grew in his mind and began to affect his play habits; playing games like 'cowboys and robbers' with his poor brother, who almost always ended up getting locked in a closet or taped to a chair and then forgotten when Alfred grew bored. Even though his dad was no longer an officer and spent his time fixing planes in his shop instead of flying them, Alfred loved staying with him and playing with wrenches and listening to him talk. He also seemed to be rather hyperactive with an endless supply of energy pent up; running around and exploring and even playing baseball. In fact, he was constantly active growing up.
However, such a life wouldn't last, and accidents happen as they often did. Leaving Alfred in the temporary care of the Kirklands (old time friends/business partners to the Jones') his parents set off to fly out to pick up a shipment of parts that they ordered and never came back. Alfred waited for them every day outside for about a week, standing there watching the sky until the sun no longer was seen.
Having absorbed optimism from his father, he still clung to the notion that maybe his parents were still alive. He even kept his dad's old pocket watch and dog tags.
Due to being an orphan, Alfred ended up living with Arthur, a boy a few years older than him, who he started viewing as an older brother. (Matty went off to live with another friend of the family, and unfortunately it wasn't long before Alfred forgot he had a brother entirely) They got along very well, though Alfred started becoming clingy in his childish affections, and felt a growing resentment every time Arthur had to leave him to go to school. Eventually he was old enough to join him, but because Alfred was a naive, awkward sort of child, he was picked on often and Arthur had to stick up for him.
This lead to Arthur becoming possessive over him, trying to order him around. Since Arthur's siblings picked on him, it was more or less transference; Alfred was an nonthreatening target, and if he could pick on Alfred and make him listen to him, Arthur would feel better about himself. Since Arthur was the only brother in his new family that paid him much attention, Alfred became dependent on Arthur for advice and for reassurance.
One day, Alfred had enough. He was growing up, almost a teenager, and Arthur was still bossing him around, giving him these 'expectations'. So, as teenagers tend to do, he began to rebel or challenge Arthur's 'authority'. At age 13, instead of being pressured to follow Arthur along to the same snooty boring school he was, Alfred instead opted to break away from the Kirklands' (particularly after a rather biting argument with Arthur himself) and signed up to join the military. There he learned all the cool things his dad knew about flying planes and fighting and being a hero in exchange for helping out when his country needed it. Pretty sweet deal, really.
Now a Major for the military, he spends his inactive duty time on the Convoy, helping them out until he is called upon elsewhere. Who knows when they will need our dashing young hero once more?
Whenever it is, he'll be ready!
