my musical inspirtation. ♥ this song is floating around the super junior fandom right now and it is utterly gorgeous. you can hear the tears and the smiles in it. this song tells a story without words. here's the story i heard :)
There’s a sunlit moment that Kyuhyun looks back on, and wishes he could have grasped firmly in his hands. There is a single moment, the space and time between one heartbeat and the next, the length of a smile and the color of happiness, that Kyuhyun looks back on fondly, reminisces upon. There’s a single sunlit moment, Zhou Mi’s smile, teeth glinting in the sunlight as he tips his head back in laughter, and the fine hairs turning golden into the parody of a halo. There’s a moment, the spasm of fingers around his and warm breath against the side of his face and heat in his heart and butterflies in his stomach and all the clichés and love songs fluttering about in his soul. There’s a moment, an intake of breath and love, love, so much love in his eyes and shivers that rocket down his spine.
There’s a moment that he missed.
There’s a thousand other moments, a meeting, a parting, a new beginning and the cold press of metal against his hand. There are moments of nervous laughter and shaking in his heart and second-guesses and affirmations. There are other moments of sunlight, of laughter, of love. There are baby’s breath and baby’s cries and white dresses and white walls and fingers just like he remembered holding his as he stares into the wide-eyes of his baby boy.
There are moments of tears, of regret, of should’ve-would’ve-could’ve, and too much alcohol. There are moments of holding Zhou Mi’s hand and wiping away his proud tears and laughing through burning lungs as he frets about birthday presents for his precious little girl. There are moments of cool metal pressed against each other, a barrier that wasn’t there before. There are so many moments.
But there’s a single moment where Kyuhyun could have taken Zhou Mi’s hand and ran; changed the world; made it theirs. There’s a single moment, a turning point, a crossroad. There’s a single moment, sunlit, sun-drenched, that Kyuhyun missed.
But looking at his son’s beaming face, he can only regret it just a little bit.
