First day on the job

Today was a pretty good first day of work. I am working in footwear which isn't something that I have much knowledge of but eventually I will get the hang of it. After the first hour I was kinda on my own. I guess I am supposed to to take a test (open book) but my manager said that he would give that to me later because today he needed me to do ( Read more... )

Oh have I been there and done that, I had a Saturday / holiday job at Clarks which not only involved the whole forcing people to buy clening products, laces and those damn bastard shoe trees, I also got trained to do kids shoes which was actually quite cool if it wasn't for the bloody parents WHO HAVE NO COMMON SENSE yes your child may grow into those shoes but don't come crying to me if he falls over and impales his head on a rusty spike.

ha ha ha. That's so weird. I caught jump roping on TV a few weeks ago! It wasn't that bad. I actually watched it for awhile. Glad your job is going well.

Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah luckily I don't have to deal much with kids shoes and we don't have very many womens shoes either so it is mainly guys I will be dealing with, which should be easy to handle, for the most part. The guy who was training me some, said that it is a sexist store because we have 10 panels of guys shoes and only 4 panels of womens shoes. He then said, "I mean the name of the store is Dick's, so there ya go." I thought that was pretty funny.
