what kind of plane reading material do you like? Light, fiction, nonfiction? Just ask travel girl.

For something light and silly, The Devil Wears Prada is fun. There's also the new paperback from the Sex and the City author called Lipstick Jungle.

I've been reading alot of historical fiction on planes lately, stuff by Phillippa Gregory (she does alot of Elizabethean England stuff). Interesting stuff (for me anyway)

Two books that have been passed around the traveling section of the project: The Kite Runner (fab book about a man from Afghanistan, but serious parts, can't believe it's that guy's first book) and The Life of Pi (that last chapter - wow)

And um, yeah, I've been reading bridal magazines as of late (another fun plane read).

I really like scientific fiction, particularly Robin Cook, but he hasn't had a new book out in a while. The Kite Runner sounds like an excellent idea, actually. My undergrad had to read that over the summer and she loved it. I've read Life of Pi, also a great book! I might check out The Devil Wears Prada, too....thanks!

Some books I've read recently that I liked:

Non-fiction
Beyond Belief, by Elaine Pagels
The Republican War on Science, by Chris Mooney
Conservatives Without Conscience, by John Dean

Fiction
Anansi Boys, by Neil Gaiman

I've been on a non-fiction kick this summer, and one of the few fiction books I read was pretty awful, so I don't have much to recommend in that department. But you can't go wrong with Neil Gaiman.

I've been reading mostly chick novels as of late, so I'd recommed Sophia Kinsella (author of the "Shopaholic" series and others) or I really liked the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series as well.

I have no clue on the sci fi stuff...Harry Potter's about as far as I go with an interest in that kind of stuff.

Sadly, I've read all the "Sisterhood" books, though I wouldn't mind re-reading the second one...I can't wait for the last book to come out!

The other stuff isn't so much sci-fi as fiction with science in the background...it's because I'm a nerd....but it's okay, I think I found a new Robin Cook book..hehe

I'd suggest any Terry Prachett book or the science fiction classics- Caves of Steel or the Naked Sun by Asimov, any of the Phillip K. Dick books, or Ray Bradbury.
