Applicant #498:
Eastern Grey Kangaroo
This may not be what the applicant had in mind, but its a very majestic looking animal. It has giant eyes that make it look like you don't know if its going to give you a hug or punch you in the face. Kangaroos have a bit of reputation for being playful, but they are also dangerous too.

I picked this animal because i think that the applicant would suit something a little ~different better than not. It enjoys leaping so its kindaaaa like flying.

Plus they have an emphasis on loyalty - the females in the groups in particular make great friends with the other females in their group. (and the males sometimes, but the females are dominant.)

Copying and pasting what I put in the other post. <3

Applicant #498:

The applicant's application is very geared towards felines, and one cat in particular I feel sticks out is the Clouded Leopard, for these reasons ( ... )

Applicant #498:

I'm going with the eastern green Mamba (Dendroaspis angusticeps) though it was not an easy choice.

Thought process:
Looking down on people, something that stands out, strike a sense of awe into people
--> That, to me, speaks of an animal with really flashy colours to show off. My first thought was a bird, but that might not be ideal if you dislike all but birds of prey.

clever, garner respect, danger
--> definitely a predator, a mammal, bird of prey or reptile

feet grounded with the thrill/adrenaline rush that being in the air gives me. I also like water and feel comfortable in it when swimming in a pool, but I dislike beaches/rivers/lakes/ponds
--> maybe an earth animal that can glide in the air, maybe something that lives in trees, between earth and air

doesn't want to be slowThe eastern green mamba is a venomous arboreal snake. Mambas are some of the fastest snakes in the world. They're predators, don't generally attack people but definitely have that touch of danger your looking for. They're bright glossy ( ... )

Here's what I said! :D

Applicant #494:

I think the animal that suits this applicant is the Horned Puffin, for the following reasons:

- The applicant puts a lot of emphasis on being near water, and not being landlocked - even if their animagus is not a water-dwelling creature specifically. The Horned Puffin is a seabird that spends some time in the water, but is still a land animal principly.

- The applicant is not necessarily a loner, but is picky about their associations. The Horned Puffin is similar in that they mate for life with a single partner, rather than flitting about from one to another.

- Although the Horned Puffin *can* fly, it prefers to swim. The applicant is not the biggest fan of heights, and would probably be okay with flying if they had to, like the Horned Puffin.

- The applicant lived in California and mentions liking to take trips to the beach, and while the Horned Puffin is native to the northern coastline, it is still a Pacific Ocean bird.

Here's mine:

Applicant #494: I'm going to have to go with the California sea otter for our applicant. I hesitated at first to do so because I thought the otters seemed too social for her, since she did like company but not a whole lot, but when I read up on otters I found that they were alternately solitary and not, so I think she can choose to be with other otters or not and be fine that way. Otters can be skittish creatures as well, when bothered, which I think fits in with the way the applicant was very keen on perfecting her answers in class and being very sensitive about not making mistakes at all. In fact, the California sea otter spends much of its time grooming--ie, cleaning their fur, untangling knots, rubbing fur, removing loose fur, etc--perfecting its appearance, so to speak, and while the applicant does not seem at all to be very vain, it is a manifestation of a trait that I think she will be able to relate to ( ... )

Here's what I wrote:

Applicant #494:
I vote for the Marine Otter (Lontra felina)

Thought process:
Something coastal, like living on land, but being landlocked would be a nightmare, umbilical cord to the beach, open, natural expanses, like the water and be able to swim, not fond of heights, warm-blooded
--> Mammal that swims and lives close to the water, preferably the sea

crisp, fall weather, moors of Scotland and Ireland
--> Moderate, cool climate

Dawn. I'm a night owl, but I actually hate that about myself
--> Diurnal

certain people around me, I like coming home to my family, not naturally outgoing--> Small social group ( ... )

Mine wasn't chosen but here it is anyway.

Applicant #496:

I vote for the American mink (Neovison vison).

Thought process:
Fur definitely,I don’t wanna be naked
--> Probably a mammal or a bird. That's later confirmed with the animals you dislike.

easily spend time alone but I also love to hang out with my friends. I’m outgoing, open and loud, but shy and insecure when I meet people I don’t know
--> that speaks to me of a social animal that lives in a small group and shies away from human. Something a human would consider a discreet animal.

water, earth, night owl, no extreme weather
--> A mammal from a moderate climate that lives near the water. An otter maybe?

run fast and jump high, move gracefully, cats
--> most cats seem to be strictly solitary, and most are not associated with water. A semi-aquatic species from the Mustelidae family seems more appropriate, hence the American vison

It wasn't selected, but it's similar to one of your choices!

I'm voting you the Aye-Aye, which is a lemur found in Madagascar. SERIOUSLY THIS ANIMAL IS SO COOL. They are nocturnal, which you mentioned being. They have fur and paws, which you said you wanted to have. They are not very social creatures, but have been known to kind of hang out with others of their kind (but they live alone). You'd get to see the world differently because they live primarily in trees and are graceful jumpers and climbers (skills you want to have). THEY EAT THE THINGS YOU DISLIKE, which is probably not a good thing but would help you get over your distaste for them. They also have crazy-long fingers and hold a lot of superstitions with the natives of Madagascar (INCLUDING BEING HERALDS OF DEATH SO COOL) -- I thought your sense of humor would appreciate that.

Mine didn't get picked for you, but this is what I gave you:

German Rex

I think you're definitely best suited to a feline animagus. I chose this particular breed, because I thought the picture meshed well with your physical characteristics. The German Rex is playful, but also pretty laid back and patient, which led me to believe it would suit you well.

Applicant #497 here. Thank you for your votes. This is going to be a much tougher choice than expected. I don't know much about any of these specific species.

I would love to read about your reasoning behind your choices, EVEN IF yours didn't get selected. Thanks!

It wasn't selected, but here's what I said!

I picked the Southern needle-clawed bushbaby for you. They are agile (which you want) and are excellent jumpers and tree-climbers (which means they live in forests, which you seem to have an affinity for). They are nocturnal and have excellent senses of sight and hearing. You mentioned wanting heightened senses! Additionally, they can sometimes be social creatures, but are typically alone. You mentioned wanting noise, and these bushbabies are vocal and communicate with each other aloud.

My choice for you wasn't picked, but here is was:

Applicant #497: Fox Terrier

I think this is a good fit, because dogs in general have a good sense of smell and hearing. This breed in particular is pretty intelligent and I think its markings suit your normal appearance well.

This applicant used words such as "agile" and "curious". I immediately thought of a gull because of their flying abilities, which are definitely agile. I would choose the great black-backed seagull. Seagulls are known for their obsession, their agile flight, their curiosity, and cleverness, and they are often seen in the morning at dawn (a time of day the applicant prefers) taking to the sky, sometimes alone or sometimes in groups (this fits the applicants' desire to be alone sometimes and in groups other times). The black-back is the "king of gulls" and is often said to behave more like a raptor, while maintaining the curiosity of a gull and the laughing call of most seagulls-- able to be heard by humans as the applicant desires. The applicant loved the air and wind, and I think a flying animal that fits a variety of environments such as earth and air would be the seagull.

I voted on all 6 apps, and gave 3 reasons for each. Just wondering why I only got 50/25? :) Ahhh nevermind. I see I chose the wrong type of Puffin for one app.
