The applicant's ability to hold a grudge reminded me of cats for some reason. I didn't think she fit with any of the big cats, so I think the domesticated cat works best, particularly the Savannah. They are loving and loyal to their owners and enjoy being in the company of their families, like the applicant. However, some do run and hide away from strangers, which I thought fit the applicant, who is uncomfortable with them. They don't mind getting wet, which is good, since the applicant loves rain. Cats are crepuscular, so they're active just before sunset. They have fur and claws and heightened hearing and vision. This breed will also defend itself if necessary. I also thought the markings of the breed went along with the applicant's freckles.

Applicant #526: I'm going to go with a Newfoundland dog and this is why. 1. You said you wanted a tail for starters cause you want to be able to use it to get what you want. But not only that Newfoundland's adorable faces can do that as well. 2. You said that your favorite extreme weather is cold, and snow. A Newfoundland's coat is meant for cold weather and would be great to have when it is cold and snowy. 3. You have dark brown hair, and Newfoundland's coats can be dark brown. 4. You said that you wanted to be an animal that people wouldn't run screaming from, and not many run screaming from dogs unless they are trying to attack them.
My species didn't get picked, but it is another kind of lemur, so some of the same reasons may apply.
I think this applicant would enjoy being a Golden-crowned Sifaka (Propithecus tattersalli). The applicant says she wants to be more outgoing in her animagus form and this species is social, usually living in groups of 5 or 6, so she would have opportunity to do so. She says she has olive skin with dark hair, and while the coloring is not exactly the same, I thought the contrast in coloring matched. They're also slender too. This Sifaka is an earth animal but she could "explore air" by all the jumping in trees it does. Its long and powerful legs enables this, which is not something everyone can do! They have a tail, a quite long one at that. And they are diurnal, active in the applicant's favorite part of day. They are also not scary.
