Hello Annalisa!
Your application is now up and subject to questions from our judges. It would be great if you could answer the questions until the 13nth of October (like we discussed!) or earlier if that's possible.
Thank you.

I guess I'm first.

1. If you were sorted into each house who would your best friend be from the last and why do you think you would be friends with them.

2. Who do you consider your role model, why do you look up to this person?

3. What do you enjoy most about hogwartsishome?

Gryffindor: Most likely, I would feel most comfortable around Neville. Though shy, he has a strong sense of self-worth that develops through the books, and I respect that. He doesn't have a hero complex, but rather a simple strength that seems to grow from positive feedback, and a confident, if quiet, nature. I think that in a one-on-one conversation, he'd be by far the most interesting of the canon Gryffindors to talk to.

Hufflepuff: Er... not entirely sure about this one, but I'm inclined to say Zacharias Smith. I like skeptics who are unafraid to speak their mind, and he certainly is that. I take criticism well, and would enjoy talking to someone who doesn't seem to mind a bit of snark. Also, he and I have the same priorities when it comes to fighting (or rather, self-preservation); I'd have been running out of Hogwarts in the last battle, too, and trying to convince the people I really cared ( ... )

Into which house would you sort Barty Crouch, Jr., and why?

You're stuck on a desert island. You get one CD, one book, and one person. Whom and what do you bring?

Which one of the following canon Ravenclaws would you re-sort: Cho Chang, Marietta Edgecombe, Luna Lovegood, or Roger Davies? Into which house would you sort him or her and why?

I'd have to go with what is probably the usual answer to this question and say Slytherin. Not only was he incredibly ambitious at a very young age, seeking to be the Dark Lord's right hand man, but he was subtle enough to fool even Dumbledore into thinking that he was the famous Auror Mad Eye Moody, for almost a full school year. I also think his 12 owls are a sign of Slytherin ambition and drive to earn titles, despite the fact that bookishness is usually attributed to that sort of achievement.

You're stuck on a desert island. You get one CD, one book, and one person. Whom and what do you bring?

Assuming I have the means to play a CD (a battery powered player, for example) I'd take a mixed CD with various songs falling under what I call the category "slightly morbid and/or depressing, but only for the purposes of being inspirational". Right now I classify songs like The Hush Sound's Not Your Concern under that genre for example, but I change my mind about what qualifies ( ... )

Thanks for answering. A couple of follow up questions.

Which stereotypes do you associate with each house? Do you identify with any of the stereotypes?

Do you know your Myers-Briggs type? Do you know your Enneagram number? If you need to find them out, you can do it here http://similarminds.com/embj.html

I mostly see stereotypes as being wrong for the general majority of the house but applied to it anyway, often to the frustrations of the people who identify with each house, so (as I'm sure you intended) this doesn't represent what I think each house actually means. Just thought I'd make sure that was clear, since the stereotypes I associate with each house are fairly negative.

Gryffindor: having a hero/savior complex, TALKING IN CAPSLOCK, and being stubborn/hard-headed.I do often get CAPSLOCKY when I'm excited or angry about something. Also, when it comes to people I love, I have a desire to be integral to their being "saved" from unhappiness or from problems, even though half the reason why I adore them is because they can fix their own problems, more often than not. I guess you'd say it's more protective than anything else, but it can amount to the same thing. I am definitely not stubborn, though, and make a point to try not to be. ( ... )

What would you say is the single most important problem facing the world today?

What is the one single thing you are most passionate about in your life?

Pick a quote/lyric that you feel is one of the mottos of your life, and explain why you feel that way.

Well, I'm going to be very USA-centric in this answer, I'm afraid, since that's really the only country I know first hand, but it's an answer that I think could be applied to other places, too.

You can point to specific problems like global warming, or war, or poverty, but at the heart of the problem, I see simply the inability to solve them. America in particular is suffering from incompetent leadership and a large population of people who don't bother to be educated enough about what's going on in their government. Incompetent and stupid people in leadership positions are one of my biggest pet peeves, namely because of the problems that arise, like the economy suffering. I know they have their reasons for doing what they do, and normally I would turn a blind eye to their corruption if it weren't affecting me, but when it puts a whole country into debt, everyone hurts. When they simply have idiotic policies that accomplish nothing and don't pay ( ... )

Part the second, because I like to talk too much. And edited for c/p'ing FAIL.

Oh, man. Um... I don't have either of these off the top of my head (the first quote I usually think of, which is my favorite, is "mass genocide is the most exhausting physical activity one can engage in, next to soccer" but that's not relevant to my life at all), so I had to go around hunting for them. I hope that's alright.

Thank you for going into depth on these questions! It's very helpful!
Now here are mine!

1) You are confronted with immediate danger. There's no time to think.
Will it be fight or flight?

2)What 3 things would your amortentia potion smell like?

3)What animal would your patronus be?

4)Would you have joined Dumbledore's army or gone to the meeting if Hermione had asked you? Why or why not?

Thank you!

You're welcome. :)

1) You are confronted with immediate danger. There's no time to think. Will it be fight or flight?

Argh, tough question. Really? No time to think at all? Not even a split second? That's really how I function, I don't like acting on gut instinct or emotion. :|

I suppose that when I don't know the risks of a situation and the odds of getting out of it without getting hurt or killed (in this case, no time to figure out the risks and odds), I must admit that my gut reaction is heavily, heavily weighted towards flight. Emphasis on heavily. I don't like the idea of risking something without knowing what I'm risking, and I'm not one to think less of myself for being what others might call cowardly.

2) What 3 things would your amortentia potion smell like?In thinking about this for a moment, I think I'd have to say a mixture of warm soil, grass, and nice cologne/perfume (depending on whether I currently have a preference for men or women at the time; right now it'd be cologne XD). All scents I like, but more importantly ( ... )
