I'm re-reading the series this summer, and my 8-year old is now obsessed with sorting - Disney characters, (non HP) book characters, etc., and our own family. Among the four of us, we've got all four houses represented, and a pair of Ravenclaw and Gryffindor cats ( Read more... )

When my husband and I went to Wizarding World last year, I realized he didn't actually know what house he was in, so I literally grabbed my phone to make a burner Pottermore account and have him take the sorting test. He's a Gryffindor!

You've got an awesome 8-year-old. I claim him or her for Ravenclaw. 😆

My paternal family are Hufflepuffs, and my maternal family are Ravenclaws (with two rando Slytherins thrown in) - except for my Mom, who is the only Gryffindor in the entire family. Thankfully, one of my Ravenclaw aunts has now brought her Gryffindor husband into the family, and he and my mom immediately became each other's favorite. It's rather adorable.

I'm too Ravenclaw to function, and my partner is a Hufflepuff, whose responsible placidness I often flagrantly disrespect. His cat is a Puff, too, and my cat is a Slytherin.

EDIT: So yeah, our houses run along family lines, more-or-less. Dad's family is solidly Hufflepuff whereas Mom's crowd is more mixed - even so, my maternal line is dominated by Ravenclaws and it definitely gives the whole family a Ravenclaw vibe.

Well, I'm a Hufflepuff with very strong Ravenclaw tendencies. My oldest is either Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw - she takes after me in so many things, and she has a lot of qualities from both Houses. My youngest is most likely Gryffindor, although you can't be really sure since she's only 3. My husband is a Muggle ;)
