For the first time in quite a while, Ari had written home. Granted, this was mostly due to the increasingly frantic letters from her mum; in the latest, she had gone on about how if Ari didn't write her soon, she'd come to the school to make sure her only daughter hadn't died horribly or something of the sort. Ari couldn't really fault her mother for being worried but that didn't mean that she really wanted to write the owl. But dutifully, she had. It was a short, completely pointless owl but at least it would reassure her mother that she had failed anything or injured herself.
She coaxed over her owl and quickly attached the letter to his leg before he could fly away, as he was prone to doing. He seemed to think that if the letter wasn't firmly tied to his leg in less than 3 seconds, he was free to leave. "Send it to mum, okay?" she instructed but at that point, the owl was already off. The girl sighed, watching her owl fly away towards home.
