It was a warm day and all morning Zoe had the intense desire to be outside. Finally getting her wish at lunch, she made her way to the grounds and picked a sublime spot under a shady tree. She had the next two periods free, she could stay out here for the rest of the day if she was so inclined.
Zoe yawned and lay back against the tree trunk. I could go to sleep if I'm not careful, she thought. But she shut her eyes anyway. Just for a few minutes, she told herself, I won't fall asleep.
Less than a minute later she was snoring softly.
