Eddie surveyed his domain critically. It was 9:00 on Friday night, and everything was going rather smoothly at The Leaky Cauldron. The place was full of groups of birds this evening, for whatever random reason. Not that Eddie was complaining; those of the female gender, while not necessarily QUIETER than gents while drinking, tended to....oh, how to put this best? Cause less property damage.
Just then, an apparently popular song began playing on the Wizarding Wireless (it was too early for Eddie to get out his own music yet), as practically the entire patronage of the pub let out a squeal. Eddie blinked in surprise, bit back a groan, and slid toward the two younger men who had set up residence at the end of the bar. "Right then, lads." He looked left and right with exaggerated care, and pulled a box of cigars from underneath the bar. Not that HE smoked, but, well...he didn't want these two to leave. It was his job to make sure they were enjoying themselves, after all.
After checking to see that their drinks were refreshed, Eddie passed them a tinier radio already tuned to the Quidditch scores and was rummaging around underneath the counter for a deck of cards when he heard the door open again. Partly hoping it would be a rowdy group of males (Eddie was fairly sure the lassies would not object to a bit more masculine presence), he was surprised to see a woman alone. A rather lovely one, at that. Eddie slid a little bit away from those two boring blokes and waited to see if she would need anything.
One more couldn't do much damage, after all. He grinned at her.
