Nervous? Oh, just a little bit! Lexi had never had to go through the whole meeting with your boyfriend's parents or anything, and suffice to say, she was terrified when Thatcher first told her about his Mum invited them both. She had no idea what his parents were like, or what they expected! What if they hated her, thought she wasn't good enough, not rich enough, not pretty enough, not outgoing enough!? Oh, the worries were endless, and although Lexi was excited to go to this dinner, the anxiety won out.
Lexi of course didn't mind that Thatcher was so close his Mum; she found it rather adorable, really! Not enough young people actually liked their parents, and she could never quite understand why. It could have stemmed from the fact that she lost her Dad and her Mum had now been missing for several months, but regardless, Lexi never thought it a bad thing to be friends ( ... )

Holding onto his hand tightly, she followed him as he led her faster over towards a lady kneeling in the garden. Lexi hadn't noticed the person to begin with, eyes far too busy darting around the grounds at the various blooming flowers and tall statues.
As they reached who Lexi could guess was Thatcher's Mum, she cleared her throat gently, quickly tucking some hair behind her ear nervously. Oh, she wanted to make a good first impression! She wasn't sure what to say first, so she stayed quiet and sent Mrs. Hale a bright smile, hoping against hope that the outfit she had finally decided on what alright.

Thatcher released Lexi's hand long enough to throw a huge hug around his Mum, who grinned as she returned it, looking to Lexi over her son's broad shoulders. "Bless me stars," she murmured, pausing in her words to press a kiss against Thatcher's cheek, "tell me this isn't your bird-friend, love! She's far too pretty for you!"
With that, Thatcher pulled back and nodded slowly, eyes wide and brows raised as he replied, "I know! Haven't a blood clue how I pulled that off ( ... )
