You know, we don't even really celebrate the holiday as the separation from Britain so much as the birth of our country (anymore). I even saw a guy that had a hat that was half Union Jack and half Star-spangled Banner in a parade I was in. :3 I thought it was cute, so I snapped a picture. XD (When I was little I didn't even know why it was called Independence Day until we learned about the Revolutionary War in school. Sad and "OTL"-worthy, maybe, but true.)
Lol, the phrase "across the pond" amuses me always. :'3
