Avril Lavigne's new song, "Keep Holding On", theme song of the movie Eragon, made me feel nostalgic... And listening to it gave me the inspiration to write a new entry, hehe.

Spaniards are going gaga over this old interview with Bruce Lee in a local TV anuncio for a car. I wonder why it's all the rage, hehe ( Read more... )

Do you really intently go through all those criteria when you evaluate a song? Personally, I just see how a song makes me feel. Nothing else influences how much I like a song. I'm sure those factors count too, but I use my feelings towards a song as an effective heuristic.

You like the new Beyonce song? Meh, to each his own.

That's the thing. I decided to make some introspection. If a song made me feel good, then I liked it. Then I looked into how and why it made me feel good. Then those reasons came out. :D

It's too catchy, hehe.

oh my, i didn't think our short chat will make you re-evaluate your stand on the music you like. as for me, i don't really have any criteria. if like it, i like it. if i don't, then i don't. lol. there are songs that grown on me though. i start liking them the more i hear it but that's an exception. anyway, i'm still surprise that a guy actually likes beyonce's song. yeah it's catchy but i believed that the lyrics would turn men off. i guess, i'm wrong. lol

Hehe. :p I don't really follow those criteria strictly, They're just an attempt to put into words what makes me like a song.

As for lyrics... I usually don't "follow" them or consider them much. They're there for the groove of the song and, to me, they're not central (weird, eh?) I can't imagine myself liking a song just because of the lyrics.

Haha, I hate those "bouncy" songs too. (I call them bulldog songs >_< blech)

I agree, it's all about the melody and arrangement. I actually don't quite hear the lyrics at first ^^; *is too focused on the melody hehe*
