I really like organic food, and I need to do some of the things you said, like eating more at home instead of restraunts. I think treating animals well is important, and they really aren't treated well for the most part.
My problem with organic foods is that I don't want to get ecoli or some disease that processing/chemicals gets rid of. I am actually pretty ignorant on the subject, so I should probably do research. Do you know anything about that, though? I'm just curious.

You can type in your zip code and look for CSAs that are near you. I think local harvest also lists farmers markets and such too.
I'm not really sure about the whole e.coli thing. My take on it was that produce having e.coli is more related to how well the farmers take care of their crops, and I see large corporations a lot more willing to cut corners about things like that. E.coli in crops comes from crops being fertilized with manure, but they have to compost the manure, or treat it or something like that. So as long as they take care of the cows, and in turn the manure, and in turn the crops, we should be fine. And I think small operations would be really careful about something like this, because one outbreak of ecoli could really devastate their crops and they're customer base...
Was the bagged spinach e.coli thing from a year or two ago organic stuff? Hmm, maybe I should go look things up too...
