Once upon a time, there was a bird. It was sitting in a tree one day when along came a dog. The dog asked to be friends, and the bird agreed.

"I like your feathers," the dog said one day, "Can I have one?"

"Sure," said the bird, and the dog took one of its feathers.

An interesting fable I must say, though I'm not sure if the only message I get from it, that "real friends are not bought with gifts" is the (only) one you tried to express... Sorry I'm just not so good with interpreting fables and the likes. Anyway, hope you don't give up in life nor your art & writing. I like to know more about your main story so I'll patiently wait for more ^^
