So I find it extremely aggravating when people go on about how I should like something "because it's by a female writer/artist/whatever" or "because it's by a LGBT person" or "because it's by a minority.". You know what, if it's GOOD QUALITY, then I might enjoy it. Or not, it might not end up being my cup of tea. But I'm not going to try and force

yeah, it's really irritating how people will complain about how "unfair" it is that minorities don't get as much fame for their creative efforts, and then promote inferior stuff based on the creator's minority status alone. I'm sure there are plenty of great minority artists/writers/etc. out there, but it makes people LESS willing to try them if all they ever see promoted is BAD stuff!
