"Ya---bu!"
He groaned in response. "For over how long do we know each other now?"
The girl tilted her head a little and seemed to think (which was an accomplishment itself for her) . With little help of her fingers who, seemed to be used for making the right calculations, she answered, "4 years, 2 weeks and 6 days. Why?"
"You can remember the exact date we met, but it's too hard for you to remember my first name? What kind of a friend are you?" He frowned, but somewhere in his eyes laid a hidden playfulness.
The girl however missed this little obvious spark and scratched the back of her head while she muttered some lame defense, "I do know your first name! It's just that Kota sounds so... Childish? I like saying Yabu better. It sounds more grown-up."
"My name means big, wide, large, enormous. How grown-up do you want it to be?" He retorted.
She wanted to make a remark back about the fact that a name says nothing about the mental state of the person involved, but their little chat got disturbed by a smaller brown haired male who made his way through the shared kitchen for a bottle of water. He took a sip and glanced at the both of them before showings is crooked grin. "I can so feel the love between you guys. Oh, and Hika-chan. Thank you for the chocolate!"
With those words he scurried away, and the older male raised an eyebrow. "Chocolate?"
"Yeah. It's Valentines day. So I'd figured I'd give him some chocolate," the tall girl shurgged as she followed the younger male 's example and grabbed a bottle of water for herself.
"You like Hikaru?!"
She abruptly turned around almost choking in the water, after she was done coughing and found back her breath which had left her for a split second she answered, "What?! No? ! That would be like either liking myself, or my twin-brother. Either of them is disgusting in many ways."
"Then why'd you give him chocolate for Valentines day?" Yabu seemed to be a little bit upset, and the blond haired girl frowned a little. Why would be be upset about something stupid as Valentines friend-chocolate?
"Because he's my friend. And he likes chocolate."
The answer was simple. And it annoyed him. Was she really this stupid?
"I like chocolate."
"Your point?"
Obviously, she was this stupid.
"What if I said I also wanted chocolate from you?" He tried making his point, a little bit more straight forward.
"Then I'd say, you should have said so earlier, it's Sunday and the stores are closed," she reasoned.
With that he threw his hands in the air and with a desperate expression he exclaimed, "Okay! That's it! I give up! You win, you idiotic girl! You're totally not getting what I'm aiming at! Do I really have to spell it out for you? Geez. And I used to think you were quite smart."
Ze blinked a few times, ran a hand trough he hair and shook her head, "zennn~ zennn~ wakanai."
He frowned, clenched his firsts and looked at her. He observed every feature of her face, from her big staring questioning eyes, to the small pout that lingered on her lips. He asked himself if it was all worth it. Her face wasn't anything special. Nothing that really stood out of the ordinary
Her personality wasn't great either. She was stubborn, stupid, made fun of him when she had the chance, dared to mess up his hair when he just thought it was about right, always backfired whatever he tried to say to her and last but not least she was totally oblivious to everything he tried to make clear to her.
With that in mind he turned around and made his way towards the door.
She blinked a few times and wanted to ask him where he was going, but was caught by surprise as he spun around, walked back again, only to grab her hand and pull her into a warm embrace.
His arms rested on her waist and his chin on her shoulders. Softly he muttered next to her ear, "stupid Hikari. I lik,- no I love you. How clear do I need to spell it out for you?"
Now to his surprise she melted into the hug, warping her arms around his shoulders, her nose buried in his dark her so she could smell the fragrance of his favorite shampoo and whispering back to him, "took you long enough to say so. Happy Valentines Day to you too Kota."
'Some Valentines presents are sweeter than the other. A kiss from a beloved for example.'

Just a stupid little daydream I had today. I thought it was cute, so here you go~ Happy Valentines Day everyone!
Btw, "zenn zenn wakanai" is a lousy way of saying "I don't know". I usually have my daydreams in Japanese when the revolve around Japanese people, and I had no idea how to translate it back to English without losing the essence of her saying it XD So there you go.
