It was the tallest and youngest one who entered the studio first. In the beginning he was timid, looking around him with a doubtful look in his eyes, scanning the area for something that he could identify. Something he could hold on to and gain him the drive to hold on to.
It was nothing like it used to be before. Shuumatsu YY JUMPing was no longer a studio program, so the spot where they used to sit, dance, sing and play was no longer in use. There was a stage area where during the shows the fans gathered and where bright lights shined upon his 2 friends and other members of his former company when they performed their songs.
Now however there was no one, and with the lights dimmed it wasn't half as glorious as it looked on tv, he noted with a little smile on his face. It meant that without the 2 main performers this stage was nothing but a higher place to stand on. And for the first time Taiyou felt proud that he had accompanied these 2 performers on their road to where they were now.
He skipped to the part in the large studio where now camera's and other equipment were stored. He wanted to say that he didn't know there was a part like this when all of a sudden a nostalgic feeling overwhelmed him. It didn't take long for him to realize that a little over 2 years ago here was where the magic happened. The magic that people called Ya-Ya-yah. The place were now the equipment was stored, used to be the place were the audience sat, and where Ya-Ya-yah had hopped around for a little over 20 minutes, dancing, playing games, singing, performing skits. Laughing. Crying. Getting mad at each other for messing up. It seemed so long ago, such a faint memory of something that maybe never was there to begin with. But it had been there. Faith just didn't want it to last any longer, and had reduced these happy moments to happy yet painful memories. A single tear escaped his eyes. One that he wiped away soon after. This wasn't a time for crying.
He turned around and there was the proof that magic still hadn't died. Yabu was stealing a ride from Shoon's back, while Hikaru complained that he was already and adult for Christ's sake, and that people oughted him to act like that. Besides he was hurting poor Shoon's back.
In return, the oldest, yet shortest male smiled to his former bandmate, telling him it wasn't a problem, because Yabu practically didn't weight anything. This causing the tall boy to cry out triumphantly while the younger simply shook his head, with nonetheless a smile on his face.
"You guys, check this out!"
Taiyou had moved further into the so called storage room, and had found something obviously.
When the others came closer, all of a sudden an all to familiar sign was almost pushed into their noses. It was a dusty rainbow with 7 simple letters on it.
'Ya-Ya-yah.'
"They kept it!" the tallest exclaimed happily as with his free hand he wiped off the dirt and the dust.
The other 3 boys merely stared at it. For almost 7 years this sign had meant everything to them. It had ruled their lives, made them who they were right now and would always contribute in who they would become in the future.
It was Yabu who started weeping first. Like it always had been Yabu who started weeping. Tears of sadness, anger and impotence, but also tears of happiness, pride and comfort flowed over his cheeks.
Clumsily Hikaru tried to wipe them away, trying hard to push away his own tears. Shoon saw it, and lightly patted him one the back, "it's okay Hachibee."
He also had tears forming in the corners of his eyes. Within moments all 4 of them were crying, and holding onto the sign.
"It's not fair. I love JUMP, but I can't forget about Ya-Ya-yah. I can't help but wonder, 'what if we debuted all together?' I know it's not fair towards the others, but I can't help myself," Hikaru sobbed, and Yabu silently agreed with him, as he harbored the same feelings.
"I have to say, I always the 4 of us would debut," the tallest boy nearly whispered. "But it's okay now. Shoon and I can move on now. So must you. There is a group relying on you two."
Shoon nodded, "I can leave because I now you guys will be fine. I never regretted anything up 'till my leave. Life goes on, but that doesn't mean I will ever try to forget about what we had. Our bond will always stay strong!"
The other 3 boys nodded in union, as Shoon whispered, "at least you two made it."
At this the 20 year old shook his head as he tightened his grip on the board. "No, it's you guys who made it."
---
For those who do not understand. What Shoon meant, was that they made it to their debut, their career. While Yabu is talking about actual creations, he means that to him, and so many others, it were Taiyou and Shoon who made Ya-Ya-yah as it was. He means it were the 4 of them, and not just Hikaru and him.
I should sleep now.
