I just saw on the news that AEP is considering a surcharge on our electricity bills because of the costs involved in restoring power during this previous power outage. Nothing is decided yet, but that seems sort of like a store charging you extra money because they were out of a supply you wanted.

Don't worry. Thanks to the free market model, if you do not like their service, you can just stop buying their prod---wait.
