I pulled out the printouts of my unfinished fantasy novel and read through some of them. Most of it is unrevised drafts so there are a lot of imperfections and bad parts, but there are also some very well written (at least in my opinion) sections, and some that I find moving. If you posted it to LJ, you could just put in manual links at the top and bottom of the post, like "Next", "Previous", "Go to the beginning", etc. The only annoying thing would be to remember to go back to the previous part to post a "Next" link to the current part, though given that you'd need to get the link from the previous post to put in the "Previous" link of the current part anyway, it shouldn't be that bad.

As I mentioned in a comment to Mord yesterday, coincidentally, I've had a sci-fi/fantasy novel rolling around in my head for a few years now. Unlike you, however, I haven't even written the first word as of yet. :/ It's one of those "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" things, but that first step feels like it would be the equivalent of taking a step off of a ledge overlooking the Grand Canyon or something. >_>; I'm hoping that my actually opening up about it, even if it's just mentioning it in passing like this, will give me the necessary oomph to finally take that first step and actually do

Yeah, I've mostly moved to posting tiny things on facebook rather than here. Most of the posts I make now are about video games....I guess I should post more. I still read LJ several times a day, I just don't post that often.
