I'm having mixed feelings about Thanksgiving. Now that my brother has boomeranged again we're just going out for a quick day. I get along with my mom the vast majority of the time, and I'm getting along with him these days despite the fact he has not been able to navigate the system nor his own demons, but there is definitely some resentment that

You don't believe actual aliens exist? It seems mathematically likely, even if you think life is created without a deity.

Ooops! That wasn't worded clearly, or I didn't expand enough. I do believe that they likely exist, and I'm even open minded to the fact they or their DNA has been here.

What I think is a little tin foil hattish is a) that they were a major influence in this election or b) that we evolved from them (quite recently) which is more along the type of things they tout regularly :P

Haha...exactly. That's why I'm not too worried about dinner table dynamics. With certain folks quite a bit farther down the political spectrum than us there could be a high potential for clashes.
But with them there won't be any clashes on policy, wildly diverse opinions, historical precedents, or interpretation of facts. When their proclamations are SO out there, either the rest of us will glance at each other and smirk, or we'll be like, "You know what, that sounds more appealing than some of the alternatives these days!" :D
