Am soo stressed.  The notice on the tenancy has expired.  She has had over 3 months to leave and she still hasn't gone.  The council have advised her to stay on until I get a court order for her to leave and they won't help her find a new place until she gets one.  I am absolutely disgusted that the council are actively encouraging tenants to stay

I was even told by an estate agent that I was in a good position because I could do that. Utterly horrified. How can ANYONE continue to live somewhere and sleep at night when they know they are under threat of eviction?!

The council would do that because it means they don't have to find alternative accommodation for longer and there isn't any because all the council houses were sold and no new ones built.

I feel awful for you honey, and enraged at this woman's actions because, honestly, it is cunts like her who leave people like me unable to rent anywhere.

Legal action, straight away. And lots of love from me to you xxx

Thanks for your comment. If you have time I'd be dead grateful if you filled in an online complaint form to Erewash Borough Council and say these things. Mention that the tenant in question lives in Erewash http://www.erewash.gov.uk/about_the_council/compliments_complaints/three_stage_procedure/default.asp

And it seems you are right. Legal action is the way forward for me.
