Mystic Man. Was it verbally said in canon that he's from the Other Side, other than the  Shakespeare posters on the wall?  Becuause if not, how do we know he's from the Other Side?   Sure he's supposed to be the "wizard', but they've given his Origin story, (for lack of a better way to put it) to Ahamo, DGs father. So... I'm thinking perhaps, the ( Read more... )

I've been assuming that he's either from the Other Side, originally, or, more likely, was a student and of some standing to the point where he went over -summer abroad, etc.- and learned stuff.

Because he had this -knowledge-, he became a bit 'famous' (whether folks knew he was from the Zone, or not.)

Another thought I've had was that he might somehow be related to the royal line, which would explain why the Queen entrusted him with the secret.

He's also the excuse I have for how Cain got into the Resistance, in most cases; whether Cain knew what was going on. I think he had a clue that there was a plan, but until the Mystic Man refreshed his memory in the dressing room, he didn't realize just what the plan was...

Or not. ;)

But, no, it was never said. Simply implied.

Of course, Ahamo also told DG that he took her to the farmhouse, so that kinds renigs the whole Mom in Milltown-scene.

Oh, writers.... *eyeroll*

I'm thinking perhaps he's not from the Other Side, but yes, certainly has knowledge of it. Perhaps they are cousins of sort to the Royal Line. Maybe at some point in the history of the Royal line, the Queen married a brother, cousin, father.. and they're related to the line that way. *shrug*

Maybe his line became royal scholars. Since Dorothy came from the Other Side (as well as the original Wizard, Mystic Man.. hey... THATS where he got the knowledge. Not from being From the Other Side, but having the knowledge passed down via generation to generation in his own family.)

Also, he knew to help the queen hide DG, because he had done the same for his own son, years earlier. Perhaps in an earlier attempt by the Sorceress? They found out and hid the children, so to speak.

I've actually been wondering if he wasn't the Queen's brother. Most folks seem to assume Ambrose was, or a nephew.

But, as the crown is decidedly female...

But, perhaps it was one of those things that wasn't known.. he's just that much older, nobody cared.. etc.

I've toyed with a few -in a remix fic, actually- that boys just aren't common to the line, so when there is one...

Poor Teddy... his sister isn't his sister and he's the only child on the line.. no wonder that kid won't talk to me! :D

Could also be, as you say, that he's just a cousin in there, somewhere...
