Hi Hilary!
Nice to read some news about your new family and your experiences. =)
I don't wanna be a know-it-all, but I'd like to correct you as far as the cities are concerned.
Firstly: Bremen is an own state. It does no belong to Niedersachsen. The other two so-called "Stadtstaaten" (city states) are Hamburg and Berlin.
Secondly: Oldenburg is indeed one of the biggest cities in Niedersachsen, but it is only the fourth biggest. The biggest city in Niedersachsen is Hannover (the capitol of the state), then follow Braunschweig (Brunswick), Osnabrück and Oldenburg.
Just to advance your knowledge. =) Keep telling me/us news! I'm yearning to read more!
Love, Melanie
P.S: I could have written this in German, but I just felt like writing it in English. xD

Hi Hilary -

I'm going to Germany next year and I've been lurking on your blog (which is great, by the way). It sounds like you're having a good time with your second host family, which is really great :D

and interesting to read about your regret for not joining theater group...i'll keep that in mind haha
