She's on her way!

On yet another ridiculously hot day - a mere 89 degrees when yesterday was 97 and Tuesday afternoon registered 106 in my sitting room - I took fiddleteacher to Heathrow along with rabbaboonie (she has yet to begin her Live Journal but xinamarie and off_colatura know her) and as I write both should be being taxied along the runway or already in the ( Read more... )

Chicago had Weather Problems, as it does often in the summer. The flight from London was delayed an hour while they tried to find people to staff it, and then we waited in Chicago forever, then IT had problems with staffing. People from other airlines were being shunted onto AA's LA flights because there weren't many flights actually going out. The weather delays were a result from earlier problems; it looked cloudy, but OK while I was there. Sorry dear - I hadn't found your post before I wrote mine. I'm so sorry you were delayed at LHR too - we could all have had another hour together- Ironically, I was home in 25 minutes after getting into the car at LHR - the Chicago delay was most unfair, too. Many loving looks from Her Catness with accompanying purrs - she's spent most of today stretched out in the b bedroom, then joined Helen and me in the Garden, or rather, we joined her since she was stretched out outside her cat flap. I do wish you had all overlapped so that you could have met! I took Peg to Waitrose this afternoon and thought of both you and Rababoonie, since it was so beautifully cool in there, and Helen arrived as we got home. She's gone to a lecture tonight on the research project in which she took part at the University of Arizona, but couldn't get a ticket for me, so I stayed at home and issued a key to a really rather nice Bulgarian who's just moved into the Garden ( ... )
