I have a long superhero comic-related post coming up, sort of a personal verdict on the DC Comics reboot. More on that later.

In other news! My comic "Doctor says . . ." which was originally published in Space Squid in 2009, has been featured in their best-of anthology Space Squid Gone Wild. I snipped the above zombie icon from this very comic ( Read more... )

Temeraire is indeed awesome. And I look forward to your DC reboot post. I've only read the first JLA; I tend to avoid single issues unless they're on sale, since they're so expensive.

I didn't read JLA. How was it?

And I know what you mean, it's such a money pit. Before the reboot I was getting maybe two or three singles a month. And at my comic shop I see guys buying stacks, literal stacks of singles, at least six inches high. It's unreal.

I prefer the collections; they get to live on the bookshelf instead of in a box. :)

JLA #1 will probably work better in a collection. It's really the first chapter of a multipart story about how the JLA was formed. The bulk of it is a conversation between Hal Jordan and Batman; we get cameos of two other JLA members and the rest don't even appear.

The teamup is written well enough and even made me laugh out loud a couple of times, but reading it singly, I must admit my reaction at the end was "$4.00 for that?"
