Once again, I've changed the layout of my journal. This can only mean that I'm very bored at work. This is mainly because I'm waiting for people to get back to me on supposedly "urgent" matters which clearly aren't actually that urgent. It's amazing just how many things are like that

At the Council (grrr bah meh) we find that lawyers call just about *everything* Utterly Unbelievably Totally Urgent - which usually means that either it's petty and meaningless, or "we forgot to do this properly three weeks ago so you could actually help, so now we're going to have a paddy until you make it better!"

On balance, it's the ones that aren't marked "Very Urgent Please", call every 15 minutes to check on progress (starting at noon the day before we receive the letter), that do include payment and know what they're actually asking for that get dealt with most quickly... Therefore your calm and laid back approach is clearly correct, and you should congratulate yourself with a glass of 25 year old single malt.

That's pretty much what it's like as a trainee. The partner running into my office waving "urgent" work in my face basically wants me to do something rubbish that he can't be arsed to do, or something that he should have done himself a month ago.

I like the sound of that glass of 25 year old single malt. Sadly I didn't have any of that last night, but I did have some very tasty red fruit cider, which served just as well!
