Well, I actually slept last night. Yesterday I felt like a zombie because I had gotten maybe 2-3 broken hours of sleep in the previous 48 hours. The geniuses that developed the colonoscopy prep had me take the goop at 8:00 p.m. the night before the procedure. No sleep that night.

Then the night after the procedure, I probably got even less. Very ( Read more... )

I am so sorry that you are having a tough time of it. I can relate and will post about it soon.
Also. Octavia Butler. Get your hands on an audio book of 'Kindred', 'Wild Seed' and 'Fledgling'.
She is un-paralleled IMO.

Hope the tree trimming is joyful and that the soup warms you up.

Thank you for your kindness. You will see I posted again after I learned more from my daughter. What a crazy thing--not to remember anything the doctor said. To go home and do the exact thing he told me not to do. Nonetheless, the prep, the procedure, and the aftermath have all been just a nightmare.

I will definitely get those audio books if the library has them. I had heard of Octavia Butler but as science fiction is not my favorite genre, I knew nothing more. I am loving Parable and look forward to more of this wonderful author. What a delight to find a new author!

The tree trimming was fun. I had a tradition of giving Jessica an ornament each year and it was so fun to see all of those come back out again.

I am sorry you are still suffering from the damn prep and exam. The whole things sounds like absolute hell.

The picture- can you get a larger frame and make a mat for the picture to fill the space on up?

Thank you for your empathy. Honestly, it has been hell. The whole gut thing has been hell--and this week's fun was the penultimate humiliating, painful hell. I am SO tired of poop and gut aches and fear.

I am not very crafty, but yes, I am going to go to a craft store and see what I can find. I don't know that I am capable of making a mat. Maybe. The painting is presently in a very old metal frame and another possibility is putting on a better back and painting the frame. I really do want to give the painting to Reese, so I will figure it out.

Oh wow, that sounds like such a wonderful and meaningful gift to pass down. =) I hope you find a frame that fits.

Yeah, I think it will be fun. My grandma was a very talented woman.

I am about to go return the ready-made frames and mats and head for the craft store to see if I can find an alternative.

Right now I am leaning toward shoring up and painting the existing frames, which are perfectly serviceable but shabby (and not exactly shabby chic). I'm taking everything with to see what I can come up with. I will post a photo of the magical zebra here. My grandma had a delightful imagination.

I can't think of anything I have that I could pass on to Jason except a bottle of whiskey that my alcoholic friend gave me the last time she decided to get sober. She has decided this again, so maybe she will bring me more. I like whiskey, but I do not drink much and these gifts would last me a really long time.
