Take heed, good people, take heed!

The best bus driver in Norman is named Derek. He is a black man with a cap and greying beard, usually wearing sunglasses, always with a lovely smile and a kind hello. He gets you to where you're going on time, always, and often early. When you enter the bus he says hello, and if you tell him the same in return, he asks how you are doing. today i got to ride standing up all the way in the front of the bus... it was a new experience...

I like the drivers that don't drive like maniacs, so when you're standing up you don't fling around the whole bus.

and I was also supposed to say that it was good that the driver kept your notebook! if I lost anything on the bus it would be gone forever!

To say I was happy would be an understatement. You should have seen me fretting, it was hilarious. Well, not for me. I was literally wringing my hands and completely freaking out. Aaron and Amy can attest. Losing my notebook really offended my obsessive-compulsive sensibilities. :) Wonderful drivers make the world all better, though. And maniac drivers can go straight to hell.

Is this a remix of "Ready, Steady, Go" by Generation X?

Man, Billy Idol is awesome.

I'm not sure I've ever heard it, unless it was the "Ready, Steady, Go" that was in Empire Records. If that's the song, then nope, it's completely different. It's pretty much your run-of-the-mill techno dance song, but I have a particular fondness for it.

Was Billy Idol a part of Generation X, then? I'm afraid my knowledge of music and pop culture has taken a nose dive since high school. But I absolutely agree, Billy Idol IS awesome. :)
