Yes, A-SS is just brilliant. I’ve only read the first six issues (waiting for the trade), but damn.
I have heard about the potential reboot, although the quote I saw from a Warners flack about wanting to make it “dark” because The Dark Knight made so much money is offputting.
Mark Millar, who I seem to recall you know from Red Son, is supposedly one of the people being considered to write the reboot, and he talks a bit about how he would approach the project in this interview.
A-SB&RTBW seems to be a love it or hate it thing. People seem to think it’s either a wonderful parody and middle finger to fanbpys or Miller has totally lost it and/or is trying to see how awful he can be and still be hailed as a visionary genius.
Loved "Red Son", but I don't think Millar is the right choice. Everything he does is pretty dark, which makes him great for Marvel Ultimates, but I'd rather see a Supes Reboot go the Grant Morrison route.
I take back what I said about All-Star Batman and Robin. Been reading a lot of the back issues and while there is some stuff that's cool (nailing Black Canary), there's a lot that's pure crap like all the Robin abuse/bloodthirsty Robin beating up Hal Jordan was not believable. I didn't like "Dark Knight Strikes Again" much either, so I should have known it was basically Miller trying to recreate the DC Universe in his own image.

Did you hear about the Superman Reboot that's in the works? Looks like I am gonna get my wish for a do-over on that last movie!
All-Star Batman and Robin is pretty good too - Dark Knight the early years!
