Remember the whole concept of "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all?" Perhaps your mom used the phrase on a semi-regular basis to remind you about the "do until others" concept. I never was really able to stand behind that. Instead, I follow the "If you don't have anything snarky to say, then don't say anything at all
