No more Tice's Farm :( anonymous December 28 2005, 09:27:10 UTC
I started thinking today, out of the blue, I have no clue why, about Tice's Farm. My parents moved to Bergen County in '72, to Ridgewood and then onto Franklin Lakes. Growing up we used to go to Tice's Farm and I remember all the things you mentioned - apples and the cider and donuts. People went on hayrides and they have fancily painted pumpkins and scarecrows and I think I remember a big red building like a barn. Always we went a couple weeks or so before Halloween. One of the reasons I'm in Alaska now is I just can't stand the developers' greedy need to turn every square acre of farmland or woods into homes or stores. I still get homesick every now and again. Alaska's my home now but Bergen County is where I grew up and yes, I am proud of that. I eventually come to my senses but once in a blue moon I feel like i really wanna move back. Doing so won't bring Tice's Farm back, though. A nice memory but it'll always be very sad what's become of it ( ... )
