Two simple tutorials =3

For all the non PS users out there. I resisted using Selective Coloring
just for you guys ^_^v

Note: these won't work on all icons, of course. Try to stick to images that have
the same basic coloring as the examples, unless you want to experiment and
stuff instead of copy the tutorial ^_^

Tutorial #1: Shiny icon tutorial for non-PS users feat. Sakito.

-

1.  Take your base, crop it, sharpen it if you like (just generally clean it up).

2. Duplicate your base, set it to Soft Light, 100%.

3. New fill layer with #DC98DE. Set to Soft Light, 100%.

4. New fill layer with #03214D. Set to Exclusion, 35%.

5. New fill layer with #FEF8E6. Set to Multiply, 58%.

6. New fill layer with #BDDBFD. Set to Color Burn, 100%.

7. No more color layers, omg. Take this gradient made by me:

Set to Lighten, 100%. Adjust any way you want. I pulled mine down a bit.
Then adjust the brightness and contrast a little, and you're done ^_^

Tutorial #2: Soft Miyavi icon.

-

1. Crop and clean up base, blah blah blah.  =3

2. New fill layer with #FFE8C6. Set to Multiply, 74%.

3. New fill layer with #8BC0ED. Set to Soft Light, 100%.

4. New fill layer with #B2B7CD. Set to Color Burn, 100%.

5. New fill layer with #D0D8E5. Set to Color Burn, 100%.

Yippie, you are finished. ^_^

I'd love to see everyone's results. ^_^
