[fic] Here By Your Side
Kame sigh, lying down on his couch then as he took the remote TV on his hand, turning the TV on and watched at the channel that was currently on before he changed into another channel as he already got bored watching it
He keeps changed the channel again and again, but he couldn’t find a single channel that takes his interest, so he sigh again, turning off the TV before he put one of his arm beneath his head
The sound of the clock tickling sounded in the apartment, it was really quiet and Kame didn’t do anything except keep staring at the white ceiling
Kame was waiting for Jin to come over, since the older man said that he want to come. Kame already makes a special dinner for both of them, and the reason why it was special is because it’s been a week since both of them have seen each other as they both were busy with their own works. And since this is Saturday night, they really need to spend their time together after finally been apart for quite a long time
Kame smiles to himself at the memories where both he and Jin first met, the company where they work was actually cooperated in some kind of projected, both Kame’s manager and Jin’s manager was actually best friend, and that how they both met when their manager took them to had a drink together
It didn’t take long for both of them to finally realize that they loved each other. Kame was actually always thinking that Jin was the type of guy who always cold make you feel comfortable when you’re with him, always full of smiles, not forget to mention that he’s also nice and caring
And Kame thought that this was actually that he had ever fall for anyone that deeply. Jin had become a part of his life and his world
Yeah, Kame really loved Jin that much that he thought he’ll do anything for the older man
The sound of the cell phone ringing made Kazuya snapped out of his mind, he stares at the cell phone that keep ringing on top of the table before he sat up, grabbing the cell phone and smiled at the name of the ID caller flashed on the screen
Kame answer the phone, putting it on his ear then, “Hey Jin”
“Hey” Kame could hear the voice of his lover from the other line and he couldn’t help but stop smiling
“Hey, where are you? I’ve been waiting you know” a pout formed on Kame’s lips despite the fact that Jin actually couldn’t see it
“…I’m really sorry Kazuya”
The pout on Kame’s face vanished and replaced with a frown hearing his boyfriend suddenly apologized to him. “Huh? Why are you apologized?”
“I’m really sorry Kazuya… I… I couldn’t come to your place tonight”
“…Eh?” disappointment obviously sounded in Kame’s voice as that was the only thing escape from his lips
“I’m sorry, really. My manager ask me to help him worked on his report”
Kame stay silent, biting his lip before he let out a smile, “Oh, it’s okay Jin” he said, pretending to be cheerful
He was disappointed of course, he have been waiting for Jin for an hours, waiting for both of them finally able to spend time together. But works is also important and Kame knew that
“I’m really sorry… I really wanted to come to your place, but my manager he-”
“It’s okay Jin” Kame interrupted his boyfriend who sounded really regret of what he have done. He didn’t wanted to make Jin feel bad
“Stop apologizing will you? It’s really okay, works is also important for you” Kame said, trying to convince the older man that it was okay. “And beside, we could still meet up at Sunday”
A sigh could be heard from the other line, “I’m sorry, I’ll make it up for you”
Kame grin, “You better be” he said and feel relieved when he heard Jin laughing softly
“Then, I’ll see you on Sunday okay?” Kame smiles
“Sure”
“Okay then, bye” Kame bit his farewell and was about to closed when Jin suddenly called his name
“Kazuya”
“Yes?”
“I love you”
Kame was taken aback by the sudden declaration coming from the older man, but of course he felt really happy just hearing those words came from Jin, it was more than enough to wiped away the feeling of disappoint inside him
“I love you too Jin” he said, smiling as he said that
“See you then”
“Yeah, see you”
With that, Kame ended the called, sighing then before he put his cell phone back to the table. He got u and walked to the kitchen, staring at the foods that he had prepared for tonight. Kame thought that he should just put the foods on the fridge, since he didn’t feel hungry
Finished put the foods on the fridge, he jump in surprised when the sound of thunder roaring loudly on the sky
Kame stares at the sky through the window, seeing how dark the sky has become and he yelp in surprised as the thunder roaring loudly again
He sinks into the floor, looking down at his own hands and saw his hands trembling, along with his body
For some reason, he suddenly felt his body goes numb and cold as he could feel his body still trembling. He tried to put his arms around himself, hoping that it would make himself feel calm, but when the thunder roared again on the dark sky, his body becomes even more trembled
Kame thought that he had gotten over his over his fear over thunder, but looks like he didn’t. The thunder always bring backs horrible memories from his past, a memories where his family died because of thunder
Kame shut his eyes tightly as he put his arms around him even tighter, feeling how cold sweat rolling from his forehead against another sound of the thunder
He really had thought that he didn’t scared of thunder, because there’s one of those time when he and Jin trapped in his apartment and it was raining that day, a loud thunder sounded on that day, but he didn’t feel scared
Maybe… maybe it was because of Jin that he didn’t feel scared
Yeah, Jin was there with him that time, trying to make sure that everything’s alright, enveloped him into a protective embraced that always makes him feels saved and protected while shooting gentle words to his ear for a countless times
Kame wished that Jin was also here with him, he wished that he could call Jin and asked the older man to come here. But he knew that he shouldn’t do that, Jin have something much more important to do
He didn’t have any other choice but bear the frightened feeling inside him
Through all of the loud sound from the thunder, Kame was sure that he could heard his doorbell ringing. He want to ignore whoever it is waiting outside his door since he didn’t have much strength to stand up, he still could feel that his body trembling, and he didn’t want to look pathetic to whoever it is outside his door
But as the doorbell ringing again and again and again, Kame knew that he couldn’t ignored it, so with much of his strength, he stood up, taking a deep breath to calm down himself. But then another thunder was sounded loudly on the sky, making him yelp in surprised again
Putting a hand over his chest to calm himself, he walked to the front door, silently praying that whoever it is outside didn’t heard him scream
Kame open the front door then, blinking as he watched in surprised at the person stood in front of his door
“Jin?” Kame asked surprised, roaming his eyes at Jin’s figures with an umbrella on his hand
“What are you doing here?” Kame asked, stepping closer at In but quickly stopped when the thunder roared again, drawing a small yelp from his lips
“Let’s go inside” Kame stares at the older man who pushed him inside his own apartment
Kame turned around and looks at his lover who closed the door of his apartment before putting the umbrella near the door, taking off his jacket then and put it on the hanger before slipping out of his shoes
The thunder roared again which made Kame shut his eyes tightly while covering both his ears with his hands, snapping his eyes open then when he felt a pair of arms wrapped around his body
“You okay?” Jin asked
“U-un… yeah” Kame said a bit unsure why Jin asked him that. He pulled away a bit, looking at his lover. “What are you doing here? I thought you said that you’re busy”
Jin didn’t answer, ignoring his question while pulled Kame to the couch. He saw his lover lying side on the couch, making a space for Kame
“Lied down here will you?” Jin patted the space next to him
Kame however pouted, crossing his arms as the older man ignored his question. “Stop ignoring me, I ask you why-”
A loud roar on the sky interrupted Kame sentence who yelp in surprise for who knows how many times
Jin groan, “Ah! Honestly!” the older man grab Kame’s wrist, pulling the younger man down to him then, making Kame lied on top of him
Kame blushed a bit at the sudden closeness between him and Jin, he tried to get up but when another sound of thunder coming, he found himself hiding face into Jin’s shoulder, gripping tightly at the older man’s shirt
“It’s okay” a gentle whisper sounded next to Kame’s ear before a hand placed in the back of his head. “It’s okay, I’m here”
Kame’s heart thumping hearing that coming from Jin, and he couldn’t hide the smile formed on his lips. Even if Jin didn’t told him anything, even if Jin didn’t told the reason why he’s here, Kame knew that Jin was here because of him
Jin was here because he’s worried at Kame, and it’s more than enough to make Kame feel happy and saved. And know, even though he could still clearly the loud roar that echoed on the sky, he didn’t feel scared anymore, his body had stop trembling
It’s because of Jin that didn’t felt scared any longer, and Kame was really thankful for Jin because of that
But what about Jin’s work? Kame knew that it was important
“Jin…” Kame started as he had decided to ask his lover
“What?”
“What about your work?” Kame asked, couldn’t help but feeling guilty if Jin abandon his works just for him
Jin was silent for a while before answered, “…Don’t worry, I already apologized to my manager, and he said that he understand. So don’t worry about it”
“But Jin-” Kame complained as he tried to get up but unable to do that when Jin holding him tightly with both his arms, pushing him down to lie back on top of Jin
“I know that you’re scared of thunder” Jin said against Kame’s blonde hair as he stoked it with his hand. “That’s why I’m here”
Kame was really touched at Jin’s word, but still he couldn’t wiped away the guilty feeling inside his chest. “Are you sure it’s okay? It’s important right?” he asked, pulled back a bit to look at Jin’s face
To Kame’s surprised, he saw a small smile form on Jin’s lips, looking at him with those gentle look that always managed to captured his heart
“Idiot” Jin chuckle, before continue then, “For me, you’re the most important in my life”
Kame’s heart feel it want to leap out of his chest from happiness hearing that coming from Jin, feeling how his tears start brimming on his eyes and threatening to fall down
“Why crying?” Jin asked teasingly, he knew the reason his lover crying and he could see it clearly it was nothing but a tear of happiness
“No I’m not” Kame smiles before hiding his face against Jin’s shoulder
“Really? Then why do I felt my shirt is wet?” Jin teased again
“It’s my drool” Kame answered, and Jin had to laugh hearing that answered
Silence fell over between them, only the sound of thunder that clearly could be heard by them. But Kame didn’t bothered by it anymore since the only thing that mattered to him know is Jin’s warm and Jin’s arms that wrapped around his body and hands stroking his hair lovingly
“Jin” Kame called out Jin’s name, breaking the silence
“What?”
Kame smiles, snuggling closer to Jin as he put his head against Jin’s chest, “I love you… so much”
The younger man heard a chuckled came from his lover before followed by a confession, “I love you too Kazuya… so much”
Satisfied by the answered, Kame smiles even wider as he shut his eyes closed, hearing the way Jin’s heart beating against his ear before he fell asleep
Kame knew that the moment he wake up, Jin would be here with him
Because Jin always by his side whenever he needs him
