Brazil was as long time in my travel plans as no other country. In fact it was the first country I wanted to visit since I was only 13 years old. Maybe it is due to the influence of Brazilian soap operas (Slave Isaura, etc), but I tend to think that it was just an inner unexplainable irrational ‘appeal’. While living in Brazil I've meet some Russians and I traveled with them for a bit, so I really understand your point of view regarding some facts you describe here regarding cities like Rio and Sao Paolo, but(lucky me) I've been in Russia as well,so the contrast you describe here could be also written by somebody visiting Russia, so your view between both extreme different cultures is pretty interesting coming from a place like Moscow ( ... )
