Going somewhere random probably wouldn't help, though that urge is probably something instinctual. But you should leave Milledgeville sometime for a carefully chosen place if that is what your heart tells you, and feeling "lost" will help you "find" stuff later. At least I think so. (I'll let you know if I myself become lost again, and then I'll lose all credibility.) \
